Those plants are going to grow in the garden soil, aren't they?
So why not mix some nice screened garden soil with your mixture?
I have started even all my seeds the way I said, minus peat moss.
They are doing just fine. Screened garden soil, rich in organic matter plus some pearlite for drainage and air.

I would not like to see you go through what many of us did in our early years of growing tomatoes that is why
I would not use soil for seedlings - fungus like that causing damping off and many other diseases fusarium etc are in soil - a good seed starting mix is the way to go even when you pot up you shouldn't use soil not even jiffy soil unless you want to take the risk of losing your seedlings - when they go into the ground they already have a rooting system established particularly if you use a mix like pro-mix pgx plug grade starting mix for plug trays and pro-mix bx for potting up - you can use the biofungacide version of both and add mychorrizae ie plant success - how many plants are we talking about ?
There are several good seed starting and potting up mixes from not that expensive to moderste plus like I use

Just hold off and wait to see how many people advise against SOIL

Dennis, about 40 plants total, I haven`t seen pro mix in any stores here, and jiffy is soiless seed starter just peat and vermiculite nothing else, I just saw the roots growing up and out of the pots and I have 2 more weeks until I start the harding off phase and wanted them to be strong and have a healthy root system so thats why I figured it needed to be done now and not friday. But like I said earlier I just don`t need to panic, Thanks :O)Deanna

I agree that there could be some risks in making your own seed starter and
potting soil and also it would be probably more conveniet to use
ready mix soils. But I do not think that you MUST buy this , buy that.
Lets see, everything that you grow in those media can be direct sowed in the garden,
if you are not in hurry, if you have
long enough growing season. Fungi, molds are everywher but
you have to be careful not to provide them a condition to grow.
Most fungus and mold growth is due to high moisture and low air movement.
Last year I even baked my starting soil, butI got mold.
I found out why, later.
