Your wax jambu looks great, Jay! Wax jambu flowers are very attractive, so even if it doesn't hold any fruit the tree should be earning its keep on ornamental value alone. Be sure to take some more pictures when the flowers open! The last time I was at Disney's Epcot Center they were growing wax jambu in the greenhouse alongside the healthiest jackfruit I've ever seen - all hydroponically grown and loaded with fruit!

Man...it's just got to hold fruit. Having this greenhouse and all the costs involved just won't cut it for any kind of ornamental values! I need to get these pollenation issues worked out. We'll see. I'm sure there will be some plants where this never becomes an issue...and some that will be a pain.

Looks great. You are doing a good job with your greenhouse and having lots of fun! Keep us posted on the fruit development. Can you hand pollinate them?

Nice Jay, you might get some that self pollinates. I don't know about jambus but alot of the fruits produce seems to be seedless.

Give it a shot Jay. The stigma should be the green little stem thing in the middle of the flower. And the pollens looks easy enough to collect. You should try cross pollinating with different flowers if you have multiple open at the same time for best results but I think they are somewhat self fertile as jambus tend to produce lots of seedless fruits.

The center really had a LOT of nectar! If it was warmer and the doors were open, the flowers would have attracted every hummingbird for miles! I tried the hand thing. Lots of pollen comes off but none seemed to stick to the stamen. We'll see. I'll keep doing it until their spent.

We have one of those in our front yard :) (well a close relative anyway) no hand pollination necessary here but I wish you luck there, I think it should go well.
Ours is Malay Apple (the flowers are a bright pink color) and it doesn't really seem to very finicky it produces way to many fruit whenever it has a chance.

Fruits are developing. Pretty cool.

I get busy at home and keep forgetting. Sorry. Trying to figure out, as in design, a drip system for the greenhouse and it's driving me crazy.
