ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT

In WW II, there was an advisor to Prime Minister Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every nightat

a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of

England, its people and peace.

This had an amazing effect as all bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in

America.

If you would like to participate: Each evening at 9:00 P.M. Eastern

Time, 8:00 P.M. Central Time, 7:00 P.M. Mountain, 6:00 P.M. Pacific, stop

whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the

United States, our troops, our citizens and for peace in the world.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this

along.

Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power

we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are

the most powerful asset we have.

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT IS SO LITTLE IN TIME,

BUT MIGHTY POWERFUL IN PRAYER!!!

i doubt anything that could climb that little sprig of a plant.. bit that whole top off... there are dormant buds where the leaf is attached... no fear on the plant itself ... was the top left laying there.. or eaten and gone ... there is a very active pepper forum.. maybe they will recognize such ... ken

Sorry I didn't post sooner with vet's diagnosis. She was running a low grade fever, blood & bacteria in urine. So vet gave her antibiotics (bubble gum flavor!!) She takes like a champ. So this was all on Thursday. Friday she did good but Saturday morning started sqatting all over the house again. Called vet as soon as they opened. They said it is still too soon to think the antibiotics aren't working. Wait it out the weekend and call them Monday am. If by then, no change then they may need to do an xray and check for blockage or stones or change meds. She spent the day on the lanai (couldn't chase her around all day) and she loved it. Didn't want to come back in. And a squirrel was not so happy. He hung out upside on the screen 4 ft above where she was laying. Today she is fine again with a few more days left on the meds. Hopefully this will do the trick. Squirrelheaven - my vet is very reasonable (i think). Spaying is only $40. This last visit was $84 - 29 exam, 35 urinalysis, 20 antibiotics.

The yuppie couple on 60 minutes were pretty despicable and clearly knew what they were getting themselves into. I would also prefer not bailing out people like that, but I think this is one of those times in our nations history where we will have to look at the greater good. I would love to be able to say that if people and companies were foolish, irresponsible, and unethical, I shouldn't have to pay the price for fixing the problems they created, but standing on principle will result in alot of collateral damage to communities, schools, local governments, our national economy, etc. I've come to the conclusion that perhaps the best we can do to salvage this situation is to force not only individual companies, but all of Wall Street, and the federal and state regulators to implement mandatory changes and tougher oversight and internal controls. This whole situation ticks me off, but I don't think we can afford to stand on principle because it will end up damaging the nation and people who have been financially responsible and are the type of people that quietly do the right thing. I'm going to hold my nose because doing the right thing for the country still stinks.

Tried, but my computer won't let real player download and need to get hubby to sort. Looking forward to spotting your hair--any hints on identification? Speaking of identification, I can't decide if I have common or palmate newts. Each time I think I'm sure I get my doubts. They are very unspotty on the belly, and rather small, but none of them have the big back feet. Any thoughts? A couple are getting very fat gorging on all the tadpoles!

I'm not even religious, but I'm convinced that prayer works. Thanks for letting us in on this.

I believe that prayer is not a relgious thing. It can be, however, it can also come in the form of meditation, positive thinking, whatever. So, those of you who are not religious, please do not be offended. And if you wish to participate in your own way, then I welcome you to do so!

I will certainly join in on this effort - My son left shipped out with the Army Monday evening for Basic Training. Definatly a strange feeling to have one of your own involved.

Thought you'd enjoy knowing this email is still making the rounds, still adding more people to join in prayer at night. I just got it, sent it out to more people, and added it to my website. I'll be joining y'all starting tonight to pray that God will continue to bless and heal our nation! :)

Amen to an excellent suggestion!

I read once that during WWII Winston Churchhill gave a speech in which he said only one thing repeated over and over; "Never give up. Never give up. NEVER give up."

It has always inspired me. This is all I could find out about it on the internet:

"Churchill said this on October 29, 1941, when he visited Harrow School [from which he had flunked] It was after the Blitz and things were looking up a bit for Britain. Here is the relevant part of the speech:

'But for everyone, surely, what we have gone through in this period-- this is the lesson: Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never--in nothing, great or small, large or petty--never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.'"

Thank you Kaye and Roselee. I haven't looked over here in a long while but I'm glad I did. It's good to know people are still praying and passing along this idea.
