I just wanted to let everyone know that the Allen Garden Club is having their spring garden tour next Saturday - May 19th. We have 7 beautiful and unique private gardens on the tour - one in north Plano - definitely worth seeing even though it is a little out of the way for Allenites and the rest in Allen - all beautiful. Our members went on a "pre-tour" yesterday. There were almost 20 of us and it only took us about 3 hours. The tour runs from 9 am to 4 pm, so I hope those of you in the area will take the time to pick up a tour book at Puckett's Nursery, 811 E. Main in Allen or at Wells Brothers Farm Store in Plano at 5001 Ave. K, just south of Sam's Club and go on the tour. We have free seeds and will also have a few plants from our gardens to sell (at a very reasonable price, of course). Funds raised will be used for a new children's native plant garden here in Allen that will be used for educational purposes. Native Dave is donating the design and the garden will be located in one of Allen's newest parks where we will also have an environmental education center.
