We truely are the best group on here and we have found the best friendships and support. Its so weird..... a couple od days ago i was told something i needed done... it cost money and tho i am sure the person was nice.... i siad nope. I have ths group of friends... so i came ome and called canna.... she has agreed to do something for me and when its done ill announce it to yall... I am just so proud to have found so many people that i can rust. I dont bat an eye.... I said to my husband... i know this girl. I know her, I have known her for over a year. I trust her heart she will do me right. DH and the kids are going up to the cottage for the weekend. Lots of the family will be there. I on the other hand get to stay home and work the entire holiday weekend. I plan on working on one garden in particular after work. That is if it isn't raining. If it is raining, maybe I will get some Chick Flicks and some tissue. And I will check in on you guys too. :o)

Good morning everyone!

I'm back from Arkansas (from NancyAnn's Swap) and I still haven't recovered. I have a ton of new plants and saw a lot of inspiring gardens! I have a stronger obsession for hostas now that I saw the most amazing hosta nursery in Union City, TN (Robbin's) I am taking over part of my woods near the house and making it into a woodland shade garden! I came home with 12 different kinds of hostas. Many of them are common, but ones I don't have, but I did get Stiletto and Queen Josephine too.

I also came home with 8 different kinds of Louisiana Irises, 6 different kinds of daylilies, 4 different kinds of german irises, and a TON of other stuff. Then I came home to a wholesale shipment I bought of daylilies! Then I looked in my yard and my neighbor finally dropped off the composted horse manure that had been sitting in his yard for a couple of years. The pile is 30-50' long and 4' high and wide! He still has some more to drop off too. (keep it coming, I say!) I have plants needing to go in the ground everywhere!!!!!! UNCLE! (for the moment)

Anyways, it's good to be back and to be able to start working in the yard again.

Gloria - sorry to hear about your health.

Anita - good luck! lots of work ahead of you!

Sharon - I have 25 acres and I would have a hard time having less. To mow that much, you need a farm tractor and a brush hog. No way would we do that with a push mower!

it has finally stopped raining so I clicked a few pictures...not nearly like cannas, dawns or joeys...but i got what I got. I need some help identifying the first two things. I don't know what they are! The rest I just don't know the names of. ENJOY!

Melissa, first picture is a columbine. Hard to put a more specific name to it since they don't come true to seed. I had one that looked like yours last year and it was from a hybrid seed.
Second picture looks like a cornflower I think.

I may be wrong.

Melissa, Sharon is correct. The first pic, Aquilegia or Columbine is very cool.
Pic #2, Centaurea Montana, or "Mountain Bluet" or "Mountain Cornflower" is such a great perennial. I just got a new variety last year that has chartreuse foliage. It's about to bloom.......I'll post a pic when it does.
Your Iris are all so pretty. I was just telling Joey how much I love pink ones. The one in the last pic is stunning. Very nice pics!

I missed the post on the top tenlist can someone tell me what it is about???? We had our yard sale Sat. Between me and Sis we did $800.00. A lot more than expected. I got rid of all my baby items and a ton of toys and clothes! Now I am buying new shutters for the house with my moolah.

The boys are leaving for Florida tomorrow with the grandparents, I should be able to get a few things done in the next week!

We need rain so bad here, it isn't funny.
