Chinese Mantids hatched on the seedlings...

These hatched while I was out of town (with someone taking care of my seedlings). It was only one egg case, out of more than a dozen that I have collected. Several dozen from this case. They have spread out across the room and like to hang around the seedlings.

I don't expect to have any insect pest problems while they're under the lights...in fact I will try and keep the window open on warm days so more bugs can come in as a food supply. The remaining mantids/cases will go outside into my garden and the local community garden as a natural pest control. Might keep one or two as a pet if I feel like it. I'm expecting at least several hundred of them...
