* The idea's great -- but the postage might kill it. The flat rate boxes will allow up to 70 pounds at the same rate, but the boxes are NOT large. * The LARGE, which costs $14.50 for Priority Mail, is 12" x 12" x 5.5" high. And while that could hold quite a bit of small items (nuts, small fruits like plums or cherries) you might as well forget citrus fruits. They just take up too much space to be worth nearly $15 to mail. * The MEDIUM, which costs $10.70 for Priority Mail, is 8.5" x 11" (the size of a piece of standard paper) x 5.5" high. * Priority Mail once was Two-Days ... and now you're fortunate to have it arrive within Three-Days. So, you have to consider how perishable and fragile the fruit is, too. Forget soft berries or overripe fruit! I'll be first with the offer, though: OFFER: Montmorency Cherries on their stems, approx Sept. (we let stay on trees to sweeten up ... but they're the absolute BEST tart, pie cherry, difficult to find retail, and very healthy!). No spray. Medium Flat Rate Box cost $10.70. I roughly estimate 5 pounds. I'm not sure yet how many Montmorency cherries we'll have, so I'll only offer one box for now. ............................................ It is just the shock of the plant from the temperature dropping so low so suddenly. I don't think you will have to worry about the plants, they should bounce back in a couple of weeks even if they are acting kind of strange. ~palmsandsnow
