Insect on my tomatos...

I'll try to take a picture soon, can't find my usb cable for my phone... but perhaps someone can tell me from a description. I've been all over the web looking at bugs today!

It's a little green bug, the same shade as my plants. It looks like it has wings. It's kinda a flattened half moon shaped. They're not very big, and don't *seem* to be doing any damage yet. But if I can ID it, I'd rather take care of a problem before it becomes one. When sitting on the plant, they almost look like a noid for a new branch.

Any help most appreciated!

I started to say they must be mealybugs - but then I realized they could be the mealybug destroyer larvae, too: How to tell the good bugs from the bad bugs Search on "mealy" to take you down to the entry on mealybugs vs mealybug destroyers. Mealybug destroyer larvae get up to about 1/2" - about twice the size of mealybugs. If that's what you've got, good on you! (Copies Aussie talk because they are an Australian import - that works for the GOOD!) Photo is a tad fuzzy. But perhaps it's a nymph of the solanaceous planthopper. If so, it's often a late season pest and/or pest of stressed plants. If you have only several, squish 'em.

And the sunken white-gray area is due to sunscald/sunburn. When you see such beasts, you could also flick into soapy water.
