I would love to build one of your Earth Tainers for my tomatoes. I have 7 raised beds in my veggie garden on 2.5 acres in the Santa Cruz Mts. I thought maybe if I put the 'ET's' on the deck next to the house we would get better crops of tomatoes from heat coming off the house. But even they won't help if we have another summer like last where it was constantly either fog, overcast or cloudy. Hardly ever saw the sun. Tomatoes did so much better when we lived in San Jose.

Mine are pink as well and I guess that is where the confusion is. I got my seeds from a free seeds offer 4 or 5 years ago and have been growing them ever since as we really like them. The origional description of them however describes them as red so....I'm not sure what I actually have. I'll keep growing them however as they have a unique flavor for me and produce well on very large robust plants.

Cleo, If is it not a mixup (no cherry seeds in the house) and not a cross (no cherries grown within a quarter mile when seeds were saved) then you may have a mutation. I say may because when I look closely at both pictures, I see a similarity between the trusses. Both of them have alternating fruit/blossom stems and then a section where they are only on one side of the stem like some may not have grown or matured. It looks like the top one has places were 5 or 6 fruit or blossoms and the bottom one has 8 but the contrasty shadows on the first one make seeing it a bit difficult. I have actually seen what was listed as a picture of a Goose Creek that had a lot of blossoms, perhaps as many as 8, on a single truss. I can't seem to find that photo right now, but check out the third photo in the thread linked below. Which was a question about the real goosecreek tomato: Some places it is listed as red and small and others as large and pink. Even Jimmy Williams' (who attempted to patent it) description of it seemed to change over time. I have seeds from two different sources, one was listed as a red slicer and the other as a pink beefsteak. I had planned to comparison grow them this year, but had way too many I had not already grown or that I needed to save fresh seeds on. Since I was limiting my growouts to 75 varieties this year (which actually turned out to be closer to 85) GC was one that went on the back burner. The upshot of the deal is, I think your bottom pic may just be smaller goosecreeks that will get to be the size of the top one. But if that doesn't happen, I am sure that there will be lots of people willing to try your "Goosecreek Cherry," myself included! BTW, I have seen some tiny seeds from big fruits, and vice versa. Hi Carla, How are things in Sac? Going to hit 90+ degrees here in Los Gatos on Tuesday. Fall temps are actually warmer than we had all Summer - go figure! Have to credit Dear Wife with the Fall decorations. Not my strong talent!! Raybo
