Opinion of an all Tomato Square Foot Raised Bed

This year is my second year with tomatoes and my hubby made one box 4x6 for me the second year. I know by Mel's instructions that you can put 1 tomato plant per square, but I felt that was too little with how big the plants can get. Instead I did 5 rows with 3 plants in each row. After seeing that if you keep up with pruning you really could do a tomato per square, but if you did the whole bed tomatoes being that they are all the same size, would the plants in the middle of the bed get enough light to produce? Does this make sense?

I have very limited space in my yard due to all the trees I have. I can fit 2 4'x6' beds next year in an area that gets full/direct sun from about 9:30am - 6:00pm. If I had a more sunlite yard to use I would just do more boxes and devote the back squares to just tomatoes, but I can only do so many boxes and tomatoes are my top pick.
