I'm really struggling this year to make the best choices for the tomatoes for the 2010 season! Last year was a horrible year for tomatoes in my garden. With all the rain and cool temps, blight set in quite quickly and while the plants did keep producing it was really pretty pitiful. I tend to stick to paste type tomatoes because I mainly use them for salsa (fresh and canned) and sauce (fresh, frozen and canned).

This year, I've decided to branch out more. But I really want a consistent, heavy yielder, all season producer that is not prone to blemishes or cracking. I'll admit, taste comes after those qualities. Then there is the chance of blight again if we have another really wet year (but then, maybe it will be hot and dry!).

Here's the choices I've got it narrowed down to (I think):

Break O'day - determinate

Rutgers - determinate

Grandeur (from Pinetree) indeterminate

I wish I had garden space for 10 different varieties but alas, I only have room for about 6 tomato plants. And thought I'd do 3 of two varieties.

What do you think? Your thoughts are appreciated!
