My garden thus far

My first year with a 'proper' SFG, planted in my inlaws backyard.

So far, it has been a success. I didn't get started early enough (my wife delivered our son 4 weeks early) so I'm probably behind other z7's. It's also been a weird summer, we had a heat wave early on and now it's been raining all day. No major pests, although aphids are a constant menace. Nasturtiums worked well as a trap crop.

This fall I plan to double the space, and fill the boxes 'lasagna style'.

I did 8 beans per square (2x4 per sq ft) which is way too many. Going to cut that in half next year. I'm also going to pay attention to the type of bean, instead of putting the inoculant on them, then realizing that I can't tell them apart when they are covered in goo! Doh!
