Pole Beans Planted & Thriving - But No Beans

I planted 2-3 seeds of Burpee Kentucky Wonder per square, in a nine quare foot pattern with the center square reserved for an eight foot pole. The beans themselves are clmbing up eight teepee separate strings (one per planting square) from the outer edges of the square to the top of the pole. I did succession planting beginning in early May, and the and the early plants have by now climbed to the top of the pole. The foliage is very lush, but the sign of string beans is nowhere to be seen. The area gets approx six hours of sunlight per day, and I have been watering faithfully through the dry weather. Although there are red flowers on the bean vines at the bottom of the plants, there are no beans that seem to be evident anywhere.

I am wondering if perhaps I planted too many beans for too small a space, and they are thus competing for space or choking the others out. Or, should I just be patient?
