Jan, Tina is right, you are a wonderful Pal! But I'm on the receiving end. Loved the St. Patricks Day Card. Everyone is Irish on St. Patty's Day ... right? You would think with our last name that we would have some irish, well, I do, but hubby doesn't know of any on his side. LOL

The seashell cosmo seeds are great! I've been wanting to try those for a couple years now, but I always have volunteer cosmos growing, so I just let them. This year I will have Seashell's growing.

I did finally plant the Aster Florette Champagne seeds today. Thank you so much for those. :o)

Son just finished his first class of drivers Ed. tonight. HE is jazzed! God help us all! LOL

Days here are getting longer so quickly but it is still cold outside and no signs of any melting. That is OK. I want the sculptures at the ice park to last a LONG time.

Jan have you done any winter sowing?? Meaning outside where the seeds can freeze. This is the first time in five winters that I have not done that. I needed something inside to see some hope so I got a heat mat and mae some space under my flourescent lights. Winter sowing is fun but if you are in one of the low number zones it takes more patience that I have this year.

Beth, I do both. I have about 10 containers outside. My poppies and Clarkea and something else I cant remember have germinated.

Inside I grow mainly daylily seeds, but like to grow a number of perinneals early and some annual, like petunias, and impatiens.

Just got my supplies to start seeds--too much to do at work right now--no 'me' time!!--but I love playing in the dirt so plan on getiing dirty this weekend!! Has been so nice feel like planting outside--but nooooooooooooo MR Winter is back and letting us know he's not done with us yet here in Iowa!!!! Snow is forcast from now until tuesday!!

I got seeds yesterday from Jeanette, Bells of Ireland which I love but have not had much luck with the past few years. I'll try again.
Then there were packs of seed for my herb/butterfly garden. I started an herb garden last year for the first time and found the butterflies got all the parsley, dill and fennel. When that stuff was gone they nibbled on other plants but not quite so enthusiasticly. Jeanette szent two types of basil and a pack of oregano. Good choices as i LOVE oregano and am trying to see how many different types of Basil and parsley I can get. Being new to herb gardening this is all an adventure.

I just sent a note to the members of the group and got a nice message from Doris's daughter Deb. Doris has been released from the nursing home and is now continuing to recover at home. That is great news. If anyone wants the address to send her another card I have it.
I also heard from Darlene87. She is doing better healthwise but the GW site keeps not letting her in. She has sent and recieved her seeds for March but has not been able to get in to post. I had a couple weeks where it was doing that to me too. Hope this is fixed soon as I miss you all when you are not posting.

I am finally able to get in here. I received a real nice card from Sharon and a seeds of a small campanula. Never tried them before, but have thought of it. Thank you Sharon! Our weather is in the 50s and sunny for a few days, so out to the garden we go, mainly to weed. One of my friends gave me the cutest birthday gift, it is painted boards with a cabbage on them, and it says, "Weed Patch". That is a good one for me.

Hi, sorry it took so long to post but we have actually had some rain. While it makes me happy to get it, I have to turn off my computer and just now was able to get on.

veeja11, received the seeds, love the sunflowers and morning glories. I don't think I can ever have too many sunflowers, morning glories, gazanias or moss roses.

Hi Carol, still no word from Cassie. Sorry there but I do have some triple treat pumpkin seeds for you.They are for carving(traditional tallish oval shapes) cooking and hull less seeds for snacking or feeding to squirrels. You would need to build your own pie but I'm sure you can do it. My landlord does it and if he canyou can too.
Any other veggies you were looking for??

Don't worry Kathy we all get behind at one time or another that doesn't make you a bad girl. I'm itching to get out really cold here possible snow took advantage wintersowed another 60 containers over weekend(Where am I going to put them all LOL).But my forsythia and pierris japociana are blooming and a new robin has staked his claim on the yard and chasing all others away could actual spring be right around the corner? Cassie has been feeling "under the weather" too. Boy this has been a tough winter health wise for so many of us. She is getting better and will be mailing soon.

Lime Basil sounds wonderful. I don't have that and Trish B sent me a great book of Italian recipes with several versions of Pesto. Great combo there. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Mellen, do you know if the evening primrose is the yellow one? I have also seen pink and wondered. If it's yellow I want to put it by the mailbox. That is planned as being yellow/purple.

Both my daughter and I have been sick first with some type of virus and then I also had a severe kidney infection. Still fighting with the gallbladder that the surgeon cannot decide to remove or not. I WISH YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! On the mend now for me but my daughter is still sick.

Cassie, So sorry you have been ill. That I can relate to too much also. There is a bright side to being ill: when we get well, we really appreciate being well!! The recipes I have sent are recipes from my collection. Since I am 67, I have been cooking since under 10. I have saved some favorites of my children and us. If you want a special one, like a favorite cake, say chocolate, just yell at me. I also have done canning most of my life, and taught it at fairs and groups. I hope that this finds you doing better.

I had my gall bladder taken out two years ago after suffering through many tests that came out negative.
After putting up with the feeling of a wooden stake going through my chest and out the backside, for 4 months.. my surgeon took my gallbladder out. Instant relief after a few days of bedrest. I do hope things work out well for you.
