Too late for today but I visited the Chichester NH garden on Gavin Hill yesterday. My husband enjoyed seeing the buildings. The early 1800s brick home was originally a hotel. Kitchen garden was enclosed by a wonderful tall hedge (owner has been gardening for 30 years) with a gorgeous climbing hydrangea covered entrance. Deep perennial bed. Wonderful views. Nice beds lining the final part of the driveway. etc. The owner said the garden is also on the Chichester garden tour which will be held 7/20, rain date 7/21. The Lane Garden in Canterbury is wonderful with strong Japanese influence, exposed ledges and lots of granite. It might be on the local garden tour which is how I saw it the first time. The owner gives a guided tour. Fortnam gardens is an extreme garden with lots of tropical on a fairly typical small suburban lot. The owner is a wonderful artist and photographer as well. The water feature alone is fantastic plus I love her garden accents. I think she has over 300 pots planted in addition to her landscape. Not much lawn left. She now has to use space in a commercial greenhouse to winter over plants. Used to just use her basement. I'm not sure if she posts on the perennial forum anymore. Stunning would be an apt word for her garden.

HI Keith, I'm going on my eleventh year as a member so I may not attend so much as be obligated to share some insight on the chapter. You do not have to be an experienced gardener to become a member of the organization. You only need to be willing to learn and willing to serve as a volunteer and willing to meet new people and be a part of the team. Memphis Area Master Gardeners Kick-Off the 2015 Gardening Season with Annual Event MEMPHIS, TN – It is almost time for the annual Spring Fling Garden Show and Plant Sale sponsored by the Memphis Area Master Gardeners. Now in its eleventh year, the theme of this year’s Spring Fling is “Growin’ Down the Garden Path.” The two-day event will take place on March 20th & 21st from 9 am to 5 pm at the Farmers Market Big Red Barn on the grounds of the Agricenter, 7777 Walnut Grove Road in Memphis. All events are free and open to the public. Parking is also free. Spring Fling offers presentations from national, regional and local experts; hands-on instruction; healthy cooking demonstrations; educational seminars; gardening information; a Master Gardeners plant sale; a gardening photo exhibit; recycling information; a seed starter booth; and lots of fun children’s activities in our Kid’s Corner. In addition, more than 50 vendors from six states provide unique plants, crafts, accessories and garden-related items in a rare “one stop shop” gardening marketplace. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their gardening dilemmas to the free “Ask a Master Gardener” Clinic for recommended solutions. This year, “Garden Jumble” –a mini flea-market of gently used garden tools, implements and art donated by the Master Gardeners themselves – has been added.
