Oh goody, Christmas rose lust is here! I really like Fall Festival. Claude Monet will be mine someday, I hope.

Berries and Cream is aptly named, very pretty. I really like George Burns, Fourth of July, and Flirtatious, they all are very beautiful Beth. Thanks for sharing, it's another overcast day here, been raining this morning and off and on yesterday and the day before so seeing bright cheering roses is extra special nice:) Leslie

Surprisingly, found pairs of Kordes' Golden Gate climbers & Belinda's Dream shrubs at Lowes this Spring. Much greater variety than in recent years. They were offering truckloads of floribundas & hybrid teas at intervals, mostly out of patent classics but some newer patented ones as well. By this time of year, rose deliveries mostly over (sigh). Still check them out any time I'm in town, hoping they'll happily surprise again. Looking for a replacement Fragrant Cloud this year, a couple of nurseries carried poor & neglected choices. Stopped at Lowes & came away with a great specimen, as well as one of the Smooth Touch roses (Smooth Angel) for a high-traffic spot on the back deck. Very pleased with this year's roses from Lowes. Golden Celebration came from there years ago before local nurseries offered it & continues to excel.

Lana,I wish I had an answer for you but i've only had change of heart since this spring, I looked for you on help me thats what it says, Lana Ramblinrose and Irisgal it always has great form :) and I haven't had a chance to get it in a vase. yet!!:) Beth , I picked mine up at regans when I thought for sure they wouldn't have any. Thanks everyone. I was walking around the garden with my husband last night. Even he was commenting about how great the roses look. I think because the last 2 years I have been redoing almost everything. And my whole yard was dug up for construction and I had to move a lot of roses and wound up with a lot of new space. So I have about 170 roses. This is the first year that most of them have been in the ground over a year and will bloom well. It should be a sight to see! I haven't planted the r/w bed yet. I'm getting a soil test done. I am testing 3 beds, the new one, another newish one and one of my oldest beds. I'm curious to see what the results are. Especially the two newer ones that are from the construction and have lots of back fill in them, and gravel. Oh, and the Olympiad I bought in Lowes is not Olympiad. It's some pinkish rose. Another mislabeled body bag :( towandazz, I have Leda and I love her. I planted her two years ago, but this year she put on a lot of size and is blooming well. Here is a pic

How do you compare George Burns with Scentimental?

Beautiful roses,Beth,I love that Abracadabra.Hope to have that one one day.My George Burns was a blooming fool this past summer.Its in a pot and I am going to move it into a bigger pot this spring.My roses seem to to do much better in pots.I have my 4th of July in a HUGE pot,too with intentions of keeping it at about 5 ft tall.The deer thought 3 ft was better.

Carol, GEORGE BURNS blooms more and has prettier blooms than SCENTIMENTAL. And I don't very often detect much scent in "SCENT"IMENTAL!
Jean, most of my roses end up doing better once they get in the ground, but I do have a few that were much happier when they were in pots. And those darn DEER!! They do love to help us prune, don't they?!

Beth, what is the bush habit of Festival Fanfare? I have a young Sally Holmes, and so far she's a one cane wonder. She produced a huge halo of blooms at the top, it was pretty but not very rose-ish. Is FF's growth habit pleasing?

I would love to grow it in my garden.

Michelle, FESTIVAL FANFARE grows tall and lanky. It's often listed as a climber. Mine peaks out about 6-7ft.

Yep, I remember Michelle. Got it many yrs ago from Vintage Gardens. It's own-root. You can also get it from Roses Unlimited (own-root) and Hortico (grafted on Multiflora). And I believe Lorene at Moore's Roses carries it under the codename "Blestogil." Hers will also be own-root.
