Show us your favorite room in your house
Comments (81)Love all your rooms inside and out! Here are mine. Our DIY kitchen that we are still working on( DH rather) and our front porch. I used the painters tarp and grommet ideas for curtains for the porch so now we can sit and watch the storm.I call it the "biggest little porch in town" You are looking at the whole thing in the photo, there ain't no more. But it is big enough for 3 to sit and the 2 dogs can lie on the porch with us. We have our morning coffee outside after our walks. I included photos from May when I had painted the free CL loveseat and made pillows so you could see the colors in a better light. I am just using grosgrain ribbon right now, I plan to make tiebacks out of the stripe canvas. Of course the roses arent blooming like that now....See MoreShow us some of your favorite pots or containers
Comments (189)Wow, so many lovely pots and plants. Nanzjade those are awesome, I would love to see them planted. Jeff that is very cute, i might have to get myself some. A pot my mum gave me, planted with mint that I have since moved elsewhere. Recently planted with kalanchoe rotundifolia: I caught this pot of aloe and kalanchoe in rather striking sunshine today. My Nanna gave me the pot filled with garlic chives. It was an unfortunate shade of green. The garlic chives are now happy in the ground, and the pot has been repainted, though a little of the former shade shows through, which I like: This is Styrofoam and was packaging for bathroom shelving, I think. There is even a readymade drainage hole in each section. I painted them, of course. I have four of these....See MoreShow us some of your favorite gardening tools
Comments (21)My turn if this post works ;-) The iced coffee bottle is what I use to soak and rinse potting pebbles. I put the plug in the sink, put the kitchen sieve on the bottom then use the tea strainer over the open top of the bottle and empty the dirty water. Refill with water, rinse, refill, rinse etc until the water is clear. Any pebbles that tried to escape don't go down the sink. I also use the kitchen sieve to rinse perlite. Spray bottle for seeds (when I get some) or for dampening my Irish drum. Nail cutical tool, to nudge tiny plants, stones etc. Different sized droppers to water next to tiny plants without fat juicy leaves. Ruler to measure anything eg pebbles. Surgical knife I got from my G.P. (blunt now). Knife to replace surgical one. But its too blunt. Going to try King Of Knives, they used to have this style - cheap and really sharp. And/or;ask my doc. Various sized spoons for mixing and potting. Fork is for combing out roots. Small, wide spoon is to put mix sideways into difficult spots....See MorePost some of your favorite Rose of Sharon aka Althea photos!
Comments (4)"Ken-adrian Adrian MI" those blossoms were removed from twigs that I rooted and long gone now. Twigs are in terrariums hopefully forming roots....so I can't photograph them again....See Morecolorado_kid
