It's indian summer here, we have had some rain, and the same old roses have perked up. Not so many blooms but nicer colors are seen now.

It does seem such a shame to destroy all that beauty. I started on Sat. I worked on the pots that were my least favorite and left the ones that were the best looking for now. The coleus in the breezeway photo with the black EE was the one I mentioned in the email. I'd love a piece if you haven't sent the brug yet. I can't believe how pristine everything looks. The variegated colocasia and salvia are very cool. Actually you have a lot of very cool plant material. I have several of those hibiscus this year, I put a couple in the ground. I'm sure I'll be back to check these over again. Thanks Michelle

that's how the "winter blues" seed exchange came into being. Some of us sitting around at Perkins after one of the fall swaps and talking about ways to keep on keepin on with our GW buds. It's a grand excuse to convene in the wintertime; and the swap has been swell. I also think that since many of us live in something that would pass for proximity to each other, that it would be enjoyable just to get together at intervals for a cuppa somethin and a schmoozefest. Maybe gather with seed catalogues or favorite gardening books and just daydream en mass.....you know, green talk when it's white outside. There are still many of you that I have yet to meet eyeball to eyeball. Anybody else think a seedy- hot- chocolate-swilling gabfest or two sounds appealing once the ground is frozen? Suz

Love Vavoom!! I have it on order for the spring and I can't wait! Also Heaven on Earth is always so pretty and full! Fall blooms are such a double edged sword, the blooms get prettier, but we all know it won't last :)

Kathy: Your pics are perfect! I love Modern Blush and Hot Cocoa. Hot Cocoa was the one the best looking roses at the park in cool weather. Thank you for the feast for my eyes.

Nice flowers! I have a few of them also. This year here was not all that good for my Vavoom. It bloomed regularly, but it sure wanted to blackspot. I think it will be an indicator variety for difficult winter/spring transitions. Thanks for the visual feast.

Love the hot colour on hot Cocoa and Vavoom, lives up to it's name. Love the frilly petals on Heaven On Earth, but all blooms are delightful.

All very beautiful, but Heaven on Earth is really stunning. Being an old rose lover, the shape of this rose is really entrancing, and the color is just wonderful.
