UPDATE: #7-4th annual whats left on my want list swap

pattygrow5

HI all sorry I have been lost in the seeds and working extra hours the last couple of days.

The Steelers victory parade was crazy once again at least they had barricades up this time last time when my daughters band marched they didn't and I actually was having to throw elbows at people crowding the street to keep them away from the kids I was working but went out at lunch for a few minutes to see the crowds I sure was glad to go back inside TOO many people.

I am slightly over halfway thru the seeds am hoping to mail by the weekend Monday at the latest.

Patty

I'm worried my answer to question 6 might mislead someone, so I've removed part of the original answer. I have also altered question 8.

    1. Does it have conspicuous flowers? Yes
    2. Is it a perennial? Yes
    3. Is it taller than 12"? Yes
    4. Is the flower blue? No
    5. Is the flower pink? No
    6. Is it edible? Yes, but not the whole plant
    7. Is it native/naturalized to North America? Yes, in 9 states
    8. Is it fragrant? Yes, but only when the flowers are dried and emersed in warm water.
    9. Is it a shrub? No

    1. Does it have red berries? No

    Things it is not:
    pokeweed

Hint: It constantly produces new offset corms on short underground stolons that come out from the mother corm

Congrats to those that are done already! Wow! You guys are fast! perennialfan273 - I'm glad your mom is not in pain right now. Yah, I've heard, too, that sometimes there are numerous surgeries when it comes to the back. I'm praying this is the only one she needs as well. (((HUGS))) Thanks for the update. Suzanne (hibiscusfan) - I got your update tonight. Please, always double-check to make sure I didn't mess anything up. I remember a request from you awhile back and thought I got it. I'm sorry if I overlooked it! I sure hate to make mistakes, but I'm not perfect yet for some reason. LOL I'm relieved we don't have to mail until November 25th, too! We're heading out of town again on Tuesday. It's busy, busy... Blessings, Angela Here is a link that might be useful: NEW All Player Compiled Want List Page (updated 10-25-09)

Aloha folks, I did it!! :) I was able to package up 1 or 2 seed packets for every participant. :) Amazing! Also wishing you a Happy Holiday! well I finished up packing at 5:34am this morning..lol I pulled an all-nighter but I managed to get it done. so Sue you're not the only one! Oh my. You really stuck to it! I quit at 1 AM because I didn't want to be tired today and maybe even tomorrow and maybe be grumpy around a lot of folks. I had 'thought' I would do more this AM, but my AADD got in the way. I may send a few extra things out Fri, and if they throw a kink into the sorting they can just be kept to be passed on as bonuses sometime later. Whew...glad to be over the seeds for a day or so. Sue

I wish I could thank you each individually, there are some really precious seeds in there. I absolutely cannot wait to start planting..I picked up three huge bags of potting soil the other day just for the heck of it, so guess what I'm going to start doing ?
Thank you Patty for doing this...this is the most exciting swap I've ever participated in !!!

I was expecting Patty's swap, Earl's round robin, and Acres swap to all come today. I was soooo excited to get home from work....so I get home, and stop at the mail box even though I was expecting nothing in it because I expected the packages to be inside...and there was mail in it? So I get inside... and find.... NOTHIN! Grrrrrrr. So I tracked this one and Earl's and they both say "they have left the champaign IL office" I dont know where Champaign is, but at least is in the state. Crossing fingers for tomorrow.

I just spent half an hour on the phone with my mother, who was as excited as me to get this package...Methinks she has designs on my seeds hehehe...but I always share with her and it goes both ways.
anyhow...she wanted me to read her every seed I got...so I read every name on every package of 70 something packs of seeds to her. She just couldn't believe it. I think she wishes she was on the internet and could take part in swaps like this !

I haven't been on GW for the past week, been sick with a lung infection and trying to get ready for a baby shower IÂm hosting on Sat. It's been fun reading the plant guessing games.

IÂm really enjoying reading the reactions of those who have already received their packages back. It sounds like Patti has outdone herself, again!!! Would love to see everyone playing with their seed packets, makes me laugh every time I think about it.

I can't wait to have little flowers to share. Thanks again to Patty for all of the hard work this swap required. I can't imagine the hours put in. Special thanks also to Angie for all of the extra seeds donated. Where do you get all these seeds??? I'm going to be emailing you with questions on how to harvest seeds this fall.

I went through my package. I cannot believe how many things were taken off my want list. It is simply .... I really don't even know how to say it.... WOW! I wanted white tomatoes. There were 6 varieties! I wanted purple green beans. I got 4 types. I wanted yellow green beans: got 5 types.

I got more types of hot peppers than I could imagine.

squash, lots of types of basil, mints, etc. Patty, don't know you did it, but I am very much in your debt!

Now, I need to double check my catalogs, update my want list tonight for the other swap.

I went outside and WS lots of seeds and made cuttings for the Now Cut That Out swap and started rooting them.

You sent me awesome seeds and were really super nice to me,so it is my pleasure to send little bundles of joy your way! Enjoy them,as others have enjoyed the seeds you were so generous to share with us! :)

Carol! You go girl! Sow away! I can see myself in a seed sowing frenzy by the weekend too!...lol...;)

Tina you are so funny! I just picture you there packing soil into containers, anticipating what goodies are on their way to you! Oh I cant wait!!!!....lol...

I have to say that this swap has been loads of fun,and I really hope there will be a thread started on the Conv. side for us all to get together ,chit chat and have some fun with 21 questions, this is an awesome group of people and I hate to see it end! I haven't received my envy yet,but I know I am going to be just as thrilled as those of you that have received! :)

    Again thank you Patty!:)
