Garden Exchange Forum

Hi,

Many members do not know about the Garden Exchange or think it is still for contributing members only even though there is no longer such a thing.

One thing that could be done is put the little exchange arrows next to the Garden Exchange link on the forum list page. For some reason it is missing them. All the other forums with exchanges have them.

Another idea is to put it as a link with the Related Forums links on the Plant Exchange.

I vote for a link to be listed on the Plant and Seed Exchanges and other exchanges to help alert people. An announcement on other exchange forums might be nice too. Only a handful of us seem to know the Garden Exchange is there so we can trade non-plant items.

If we can't liven up the Garden Exchange forum, I'd like to see the garden exchange forum merged with the plant and seed exchanges. Both those forums are not as busy as they used to be sadly.

Another idea is to put it as a link with the Related Forums links on the Plant Exchange.

Wonderful idea!

Also include the Garden Exchange as a related link on other exchange forums as well.

I know that this exchange forum is a little-used resource, and that most of us just look at the main Canadian Gardening Exchange forum, but I thought I'd post here anyways. My trade list is up-to-date and I'd love to trade. If you're interested in anything on my list, shoot me an email. I'm always looking for a variety of new seeds, a much longer list than the one in my "wants" area, and I'm sure we can work out a trade!

Most of mine aren't mature yet or are just beginning to reach some stage of maturity, so I haven't had much to trade. Now, I'm also nervous about HVX--both being on the receiving end, or unwittingly passing along an infected plant to someone.

A super-functional idea! If folks don't know it's there....it can't be used well.

It took me a long time to stumble across it...eventually by clicking the "other exchanges" section, not knowing there would be so many.

I totally agree that it would be so helpful for a link. In talking to gardening friends, they didn't realize it was there!!!

If you want to promote that section of GW you can also put it in your member page. List it as one of your favorite forums or put a link to it along with whatever text you have on your member page.
