Ask The Yard Doctor

Since you have this listed on the top of every forum in both GardenWeb and The Home Site, it is quite obvious you want people to look at it.

One problem is the title "Yard Doctor" is misleading; I have a yard, however I don't have a lawn. As a result, you appear to be getting non lawn questions. Why isn't a staff person from GW deleting the non lawn questions, so that more attention could be paid to the lawn ones? I'm not sure why GW is making a big to do over this forum if "The Yard Doctor" is only going to selectively answer questions. Many of the questions he apparently doesn't plan on answering look to be very good questions, imo.

We are aware that there are questions that aren't related to lawn care and those questions will eventually be deleted. However, this does not mean that the Yard Doctor will not answer all of the questions that do relate to lawn care because there are other types of questions listed. The header very clearly states where his expertise lies. And, he can only answer so many questions each day -- but, will plan on answering all lawn questions over the next few days.

You can't post to it if you enter the website via GardenWeb. If you enter with Houzz, you can :-) Why the differentiation, I have no idea, but it is a stupid forum (has been since it was started), there has been no "yard doctor" since early on so stagnant for months on end and the "doctor" came with no qualifications to assume that position anyway. It's almost like one was intended to assume that whoever responded - the "doctor' - was more qualified to answer these questions than anyone else, which is nonsense! There are a bunch of extremely knowledgeable participants on a wide range of forum topics that will handily answer virtually any question that comes their way!! Both that specific forum....and the unnecessary and confusing cross-posting/forum tagging....are features that should be deleted from both platforms.
