Help with Southern Magnolia

I'm also having a serious problem with a southern magnolia tree new this season in my backyard. I planted two trees, both 30 gal. and over 6 ft. tall. Both trees were fine and blooming lots of blooms just last week. We've been having huge amounts of rain here in Texas with the soil staying very wet. These last storms caused water to stay on the ground near this magnolia for over a day... then it would rain again and again so the soil didn't dry out well until a few days ago. Now this tree is wilting badly, especially in the new growth. The buds that haven't opened are turning dark color and so are the leaves. It almost looks like they are moldly, if that makes any sense. I'm wondering if there is any chance now of saving this tree. Any advice is appreciated.
