NEW: New Tomato Seed Secret Swap!

Hi!

I am starting a new secret seed swap just for tomato seeds.

It will be limited to 9 people (10 including me), so please make sure you can meet the criteria before signing up!

To join this swap you will need:

1. 10 different tomato seed varieties in quantity of at least 30 seeds each.

2. The ability to send these varieties by Feb. 17th

3. A wish list (optional, but helpful)

The swap will proceed as follows:

You will send me (the host) your 10 varieties (at least 30 seeds of each). After all seeds have arrived I will divide them up and send you back 50 varieties of at least 6 seeds each.

Why only 50? Because 30 seeds of each variety is a much more manageable number than 60! Also, in case of duplicates, you will not get the same variety back (unless everyone sends the same variety---this is where the wish lists help.)

Once you are accepted into the swap (first come, first served) then post your wish list (if you have one) this way people can try to send seeds that are wanted rather than send a bunch that everyone already has. Please send me your list of seeds that you wish to send. (Okay, so it won't be secret to me!) That way I can hopefully prevent many duplicates by asking if you can substitute a variety. If not, that's okay, just as long as you have at least 10 varieties of 30+ seeds to send.

Not like I need more tomato seeds, but being that you're hosting, and I am a tomato addict, I'll have to join : )

Sounds great Remy! I think I actually missed trading with you this year! Still enjoying your St. Remy Perfit, thanks for introducing us all to this great variety!

Also, I meant to say this in the intro, but only OP/Heirlooms no hybrids.

Okay, Medo and CarolynP effectively twisted my arm! I'm in! I see some things that I can fill requests for, too, which is going to be such fun! I am concerned over the names that noone else has picked to send to yet. Is there any way we can pick from the list of people that haven't been picked yet to be sure we're sending something to everyone? I'd love to volunteer to send things I have to several of them to be sure to spread the holiday spirit more evenly. Just LMK how you want to handle that issue, Kym, okay? I'd be happy to wait until you get a list from other people of who they're sending to before I pack up my seeds. Here's my list. The first two are my biggest wants; the rest are simply in alphabetical order: 1. Fruit - (anything that makes good fruit for eating/canning when grown from seed) *BIGGEST WISH* 2. Well folks I am home after a weekend in the Temple hospital. God blessed me with some great doctors and nurses . What I was transferred to Temple for is they thought there was a problem with my aorta lining being separated in one spot and Harker Hights could not handle such issues . But much to the doctors relief as well as mine this was not the case . The whole problem revolved around an alergic reaction which developed over time to my prescription to lisinopril which is a blood presure med. so be warned if you are prescribed this med you may after time develop an allergic reaction which involves swelling in the extremities which is inflamed and at times it itches . also can lower your blood pressure to near dangerous low levels. so be on guard if you your loved ones or your friends take this drug it can be dangerous.Some other good news I forgot to mention. Since I last saw my Doctor in Bryan earlier this year my heart function is up 9% and I have lost 15 pounds . A great victory thanks to the help and good care of my doctors and nurses And the good Lord looking after me. This is one reason I have not been very active on the forum this year. hope to change that dramatically. I have missed everyone. Merry Christmas. Kevin

I received the seed box in the mail today!!! I haven't had a chance to go thru it this afternoon -- but I will tomorrow when I get home from work! I cant' wait to see what's in there :) Thanks to all the original members who participated in the tomato seed round robin -- ya'll were awesome :) Just to let everyone know -- we'll be starting round 2 soon and we'll be adding new members to the round robin. Honestly the last thing I need right now is more tomatoe seed but the thought of getting something I don't already have is so yummy I can't resist. I'm sure I have 30 of atleast 8 different varieties, but will have to take a look at my supply to find 9 and 10. Okay, count me in!
