Work has been crazy busy lately, but I had a moment to think today. Wouldn't you know it? I came up with another idea! Would people be interested in an "All Mixed Up" swap? We trade mixes or blends of veggies & such. Examples would be mixed heirloom tomatoes, mixed cherry tomatoes, mixed hot peppers, lettuce blends, etc.

Here I go thinking.....again! Has anyone suggested a "Wild Kingdom" theme? Those edibles named after animals. Examples would be: Sheepnose pimentos, Bulls Blood beets, Jacob's Cattle, beans, Rattlesnake beans,Turkey Craw cowpeas,Deer Tongue lettuce,Speckled Trout Lettuce, Zebra tomatoes, Furry Yellow Hog tomato...and lots more.

I think this would be a fun one!

Ooooo....I like the Wild Kingdom idea. Although I have so many seeds right now I am going to have to start stealth gardening!!

Oh...and are we doing the Biggest/Smallest theme this season???Or is that in the IH....I started saving for that, then got rid of some of the seeds, but if we are doing it it gives me something to shop for LOL....oh I should be less lazy and go look for myself in the IH ROTF!!

Too many thoughts for one brain! How about a secret partner swap? Only the person in charge of the swap would know who your partner is. You wouldn't find out until your partner sent you your seeds. This would mean everyone would need to give their address to the swap leader for them to give to your partner.

Kathy & Christy, any of these ideas are interchangeable with Incredible Heirlooms. I've just been posting here because there are fewer posts.

I think procrastinating (from what you are suppose to be doing) may be the key to invention. Yes, it's another theme! Tired of them yet? Anyway this one would be a "Make Your Own Theme" for your swap partner.

For instance I may have a "Magical Mystical" theme for my partner and give them dragon tongue beans, elfin tomatoes and fairy squash etc. Anything that is considered magical or mystical.

I may have a Dr. Seuss theme for my partner and give them things I think would grow in a Dr. Seuss garden like snow leopard honeydew melons, shrimp beans, variegated tomatoes, etc.

As you probably already know, my favorite color is purple. So I may do a purple theme for my partner with purple podded pole beans, Purple Russian tomatoes, and purple jalapenos, etc.

Just another idea to think about.

I like the Secret Partner Swap....sounds right up my alley LOL!!

I was thinking....how about a Rainbow Swap where you try to come up with at least one pack of seeds for every color in the rainbow.
Like ...red-German Giant Radishes, orange-Kelloggs Breakfast Tomatoes,yellow-Solar Yellow Carrots....and so on and so forth, the more unusual the better...you could call it the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow Swap"
( I am just a tad bit sleepy so I may be making no sense right now LOL)

Next months swap for the IH Mystery Madness is gonna be so secretive. No one except me will know who their partner is! LOL I think that's such a fun twist the the swap. :) I wanted to spice it up a bit too so I won't share every detail yet but I've been working on it for the last week. I really hope everyone enjoys it.

I really like the idea of a Rainbow swap! There are so many different colored edibles out there. That would be loads of fun! Awesome one Donna!! :D

I had that happen to one of my posts recently on the Homegrown Recipes swap. I swear I posted and couldn't find it later. There was nothing "controversial" to have the post removed either. It was very odd.

In the next few days, I will be posting this month's swap for July, Weird and Odd Edibles! This should be a fun one! I also wanted to make a note, and any suggestions are welcomed!

I was thinking of linking the IE and IH swaps together someway to save people money. I was thinking that is you want to join both swaps, that I would give you the SAME partner in both swaps, this way you only have to ship to one person for both swaps. And maybe you would only have to send 5 packs for each swap?

You dont have to sign for both swapsbut if you do, I will put the same people together. I am just trying to think of a way that saves everyone some money, and hopefully still have a nice turn out. What do you guys think?
