Happy Birthday, Bill! (Absurdly Long)

Some history: Bill the lab has been conducting "garden tours" here on the Gallery for about 7 years now. In that time, he has acquired a yellow lab brother, Jack, who is now 4. And last year, we gained another family member, Jazzper who is about 1 1/2 years and was a Katrina rescue.

Bill just turned 13 so thought we would share his birthday here as we usually do.

Your pups are precious! Animals do have quite a personality dont they? : ) All those Austins are too much for me! Might need to get my heartrate down before viewing again. They are sooo gorgeous.

How lovely! All of my favorite birthday things: furry garden helpers and flowers! Who could ask for anything more? Beth, your MAAB is lovely and one of my favorites in my garden and Katie is adorable! Ron, you can see how happy and well loved Dusty was. And yes they do attach themselves to our hearts and never let go. It's been a year since we lost our Bill and my husband calls Jack "Bill" as often as he calls him Jack. Dave and Deb, Duke is certainly in his element amongst the gorgeous roses and clematis in "his" garden. And it's comforting to me to think of Duchess and Bill playing together at the Bridge. Thanks again guys... I took the Bernina in and they made and adjustment right on the spot and even gave me a free pack of needles and it worked fine there... of course the minute I try to use it at home, well... we'll see what happens. The lady told me not to threaten it or use bad words because the machine will misbehave even worse! I'll try to be good... I ended up not having to work the second job last night... another guy showed up because he misread the schedule and since he doesn't have a car and I do and only live 15 minutes away, I let him stay and I traded days with him :o) Lars, I know enough to know that Mr. Foxworthy's first name is Jeff and not John :-p Nice try though.... maybe you were on coffee break when you had your redneck training session... I bet you also missed the lesson on how to spit tobacco into an empty beer can and how to keep your double wide on the ground during a hurricane as well :o) Partymusic, I'm sorry nobody has done anything for you in the last 7 years... sometimes I wish we here on the CF could start our own neighborhood or compound or something so we could all be together and enjoy and celebrate and all that happy stuff :o) Ellen, I'm going for LPN... some hospitals aren't hiring them anymore, but it's a stepping stone to get to RN. The RN classes here are hard to get into and have long waiting lists and one is more readily accepted if they are already and LPN and do a bridge program... I have to take an admission test in January and I've already purchases a huge thick study guide so I can brush up on all the stuff I forgot since high school... at least there are things called Youtube tutorials now :o)

Oh Linda - I think I've died and gone to heaven. It really makes my day, to see another of your beautiful posts AND catch up with da dawgz. I tried, but can't pick out a favorite from this post. Knowing how busy you are, we should all feel honored. How much longer til you're finished with Law School?

Love your retrievers and your roses! I have 2 granddogs-a Golden named Yogi and a black Lab. named Dixie. They are the most lovable and adorable dogs. So much soul in their eyes. Buff

Hi Olga, another old pal! Ever since Jazzper had his surgery to remove bullet fragments from his neck (it breaks my heart that someone shot the little guy after Katrina), he's been a different dog! Believe it or not, he's actually very alpha with Jack! Thanks for asking.

Oh I can't beleive I missed this post so many times, what on earth was I doing??? I know, I was looking at your pictures and forgot to post. LOL

Forgive me, I really want to thank you for those wonderful Austin pictures, some of my most favorite roses are shown here, thanks so much. And the dogs, well those dogs are pure movie start material. I know that Bill and the boyz had a wonderful day with you, how could they not in that great pool.

Linda, there is no such thing as an "absurdly long" post from you -ever! I enjoyed waiting for each and every photo to open (darn dial up!) and really enjoyed seeing Bill's smiling face. Thanks Melva - I adore them too and I miss them. I've been in Pensacola for 10 days on business. And while the view of the Gulf from my terrace is stunning, I would rather see the smiling faces of da Boyz! I will deliver your good wishes to Bill when I return home on Thursday.
