More salvia? I have never seen this kind before...it looks pretty. Don't know this specific plant but virus usually cause blotches, dots or streaks in the leaf itself which often stay yellow and the same texture as the rest of the leaf. Bacteria and fungi usually cause soft spots and rotting that spreads quickly. If it is a bacteria/fungus problem you can spray with Physan or M-45 Dithane or equivalent chemical, or, if you are an organic gardener, with ground cinnamon (not as effective). If it's a virus there's no option but to burn the plant. Even if you get a cutting to propagate it would have the virus too. Hi. Mine is about 3ft high. I get frost here and it survives, lots of leaf burn but spring prune takes care of the mess. It sits in full summer sun with no problem. It's been flowering straight for a whole year now, not even the cold or frost stopped it though it does flower better in summer. I doubt your humidity will bother it. Hope that helps. Cait

Brenda, isn't Woodland WARMER than Sac? My problem is, I am in the process of moving into my BF's house. Where I lived before was closer to downtown and warmer.... :o( I think at least... I am hoping that this house is on a little hill so that the cold doesn't settle. I am just being wimpy, because I JUST got the plant, and it came from a greenhouse.... I haven't gotten a chance to enjoy it yet. Maybe I will pot it, and then each summer bury it and dig it up.... we'll see how lazy I get.
