David Austin Photography Contest

As listed on their website:

US Garden Rose Photography Competition 2009

We are pleased to announce our 2009 photography competition. Our two categories this year are:

1 - Best picture of a David Austin Rose

Entrants to this category must be amateur photographers. We have given you almost a blank canvas in this category, so feel free to delight us in any way you like! The subject can be of any rose sold or bred by David Austin Roses. The only restriction is that your image must show at least one full bloom, including the outer petals.

2 - Best picture expressing the theme 'English Roses are fragrant'

Entrants to this category can be amateur or professional photographers. It is a great challenge to express the idea of a rose scent in an image, but we know how creative our customers can be! The winning picture will be the one that best illustrates this famous characteristic of David Austin's English Roses in the view of our judges.

Pictures should ideally be digital. We can also consider slides or prints but cannot return any images sent to us. The prize for the overall winner will be $150 worth of David Austin mail order gift vouchers.

Send your images by e-mail to photos@davidaustinroses.com or by post to David Austin Roses, Rose Photograph Competition, 15059 Highway 64 West, Tyler TX 75704. If you send us images by post please keep a copy as we are unable to return them.

Please include your contact details and the name of the rose if you know it.

Terms and conditions

E-mails should be titled 'US photo competition'

The maximum digital file size is 1MB.

Entries are restricted to ten per person. Please do not e-mail more than five images in any one e-mail.

The closing date for receipt of your pictures will be 30th September 2009.

We are sorry but we can only accept entries from people who live in the United States of America.

The opinion of our judges is final.

We may like to share any of the winning images with our customers or to use them on our website or in publicity material. If so, we will credit the photographer for any images used. Entry to the competition will therefore be understood to give David Austin Roses permission to use an image without charge for their publicity purposes, unless permission is explicitly withheld when the image is sent to us.

Good luck!
