Izhar, I grow Wave petunias every year and they self sow with profusion. The resulting seedlings are not Wave petunias. They have a more upright habit, are not as vigorous and lack the cascading habit. Although, I plant many different colors of Wave petunias, the self sown seedling are always a magenta color. They are very similar to the original species or wild petunia in my opinion. Karen

Never know till you try, but chances are the seeds will be too immature. Okra is easy to save seeds when you let the last ones dry on the stalks. White Velvet is an excellent okra.

I've done quite a few 'experiments' with saved pepper seed, one of which gave me a pepper that I've got in my kitchen @about 2.5-3ft it give me a regular chilli supply for my cooking, another is more of a novelty tree with tiny little chillies and leaves, it looks like a thai variant. Another however although very very prolific (and bare in mind I only use small containers 7inch max if that) wasn't hot at all and although I do have 2nd gen seed I haven't pursued that lineage at all (yet). You will get a mixed bag, but most will germinate, some will stumble through and then die, and you may get some good ones you like, or you could get a load of weak, poor fruiting, loosers :) As to wether the green ones will germinate, they probably will if the seed itself is properly formed. My advice with the random seed is grow as many as you can, be patient and label them all (even if its just a letter) so if you get an unusual one you know which one it is. And if you get any someone else will be interested in, then share them with your friends :) Regards Nick

I believe, with nasturtiums you just dry the seed and save it in a cool, dry location for next year. For the beans: you should shell them from their pods, dry them to the point that you can't dent the seed with a fingernail (I dry them a couple days longer than that.), seal them in an airtight container and freeze them for at least two days. Freezing will kill weevil eggs, which seem ALWAYS to be present in such seed. After two days in the freezer you can remove them and store the seed away from heat sources. Remember, when taking the seed from the freezer, not to open the container for several hours. This allows temps to equalize and avoids condensation on your seed. I once ruined a batch of beans by peeking at them before they had warmed up. It was only for a moment, and then I replaced the lid. But the following spring, when I opened the jar, all the seed had gone moldy. George
