super hot best yet compost
Comments (3)no im doin it in the earth machine. I think i figured out the earth machine. The little door on the bottom is useless except to check the state of things. But the top half comes off.. Remove top half transfer medium/ half composted top part of heap compost to other bins. keep pulling off the top till you see black gold.. Shovel way down below soil line of good black gold to can. Rebuild pile in lower section.. Replace the top half of earth machine, keep piling up old stuff layer with some good compost too if you can spare it. I've been poking through the heap with a big iron bar; it goes right through easy. Keep building up for awhile then harvest again. I had the lime laying around and just wanted to use it. I think the small amounts will be insignifigant. Build it up and keep adding to it. It will shrink quick. Im still tumbling out of my blue drum, gotta get some grass clippings and finish of this batch.... im looking for the card reader now, so i can download pics ron...See MoreBest super hot, that requires least sunshine or warmth.
Comments (4)Yes Manzano is doing fine in my PNW garden. It did do very little in July which was unusually hot, but now that it has cooled off , may manzano is bursting into pods. It gets about 4 hours of direct sun. BUT, Manzan is not considered a super hot. Its heat is like 10 k to 25k on shu scale....See MoreSuper Hots for Taste
Comments (10)Green man I agree with the chocolate habanero. I absolutely love them. They are one of my favorites for taste. Very fruity and not too hot. Seysonn it's good to hear from you. I remember when I first joined gardenweb you were one of my frequent people to follow up. I learned a lot from you and DMForcier. Scorpion john I didn't know they had a Trinidad Douglah. I grew the 7pot Douglah and I think that is one of the varieties I havnt eaten yet Bc I'm afraid to bite into it. I will look for those seeds. I got my little brother into hot peppers so I want to help him grow a bunh of cool varieties...See MoreReasons to grow super hots
Comments (49)Super simple... boil a few cups of water, when it reaches a rolling boil take it off the heat... toss about an oranges worth of peel in the water with a pod or two of peppers (dried, fresh, powdered, whatever you have handy) let steep overnight, strain, put in a spray bottle and use weekly. I keep the left overs refriderated. The pepper residue is thought to keep mammalian critters away, and the citrus is unappealing to various pests. I switch up on the fruit peel, it is really whatever I have around that day. Sometimes I'll also add a few cloves of garlic as an antifungal. Also, I use this as a preventative and I haven't had any serious problems with pests (except hornworms) yet. So I can't say if it's the spray or luck....See Morerobeb
