Medusa Pepper Help

I purchased a Medusa Pepper plant from a plant store late October/early November. My plant already had pepper fruits on it. After fruiting, the leaves have fallen off and the plant is bare, only having the stalk. Any suggestions on how to bring this plant back to life? I haven't been able to find much information on caring for medusa peppers through an online search. Is the plant just hibernating? Any help would be more than appreciated!!

Please give us more info on your plant. Where do you have it? Is it getting light? Is it outside? Are you feeding/watering? etc,etc.

I ordered a Medusa Pepper plant and just received it in the mail today. I would also like tips on how to care for it. Is it best as a potted plant that can be brought in during the colder months? Or will it withstand the winter?

Crystallinelotus, have you received any further information? I see that your post is from December. I hope your plant survived!

Just to clarify i did not grow from medusa seed, this plant grew where Medusa Pods fell and were left untouched. IT IS POSSIBLE I CAN BE WRONG SO ANY ID's related to medusa or not are also great! The pods are between a little longer than 1/2 of an Inch by 1/4 of an inch. they are all pretty new pods no more than a couple weeks old at the most. I just bit into the Chile in the picture until I felt a little juice hit my tounge, IT'S HOT! Maybe one of my COBAN seeds ended up in there because that's the closest thing my very newbie mind can picture. I guess we'll see if the pods turn red or not.

Chilly Chili or Medusa Pepper?

I am not an expert by any means but I know the Chilly chilis are generally short peppers approximately 2" long; whereas the Medusa are longer chilis that resemble the snakes coming from Medusa's head from Latin mythology. They are generally twisted to resemble a snake. That is what I know and I hope it helps.

Thanks everyone especially Gonzer (the great? got a good rhyme to it). In my quest to find what circinnatoides looks like I stumbled upon this photoblog which has quite breathtaking photos. It's the third one down. http://wilding-diary.blogspot.com/2009/06/blog-post.html Pretty convincing I must say Gonzer, that what I have is the lovechi...I mean hybrid of these two. I really dig the circinnatoides inflorescence. It's like a mini t. cyanea bloom. Even though I love caput medusae to bits, the bloom is not that impressive to me. So, I will be happy if it has a circinnatoides (okay, what's the story behind this name?). I will also try to get an answer from the people I purchased these plants from and post it if it's anything different. Thanks again, everyone. This forum rocks! As do tillandsias.

All peppers are perennial but they are warm weather so in your zone you would have to bring it inside for the winter. I don;t know where crystallinelotus is, but he/she never returned to answer any questions so we could help her/him.

If the medusa was left outside in oct/nov/december and it was cold, the plant probably died which would explain the leaves falling off.
As far as your medusa goes, I would treat it like any other chile pepper. Put in a sunny spot all summer and then when fall sets in if you want, bring it inside and put in a sunny window or under lights and it should be fine.
