Time to let this fall. It was posted too late to be useful to many GW members, I know. However, I would like to let you know that the speaker was entertaining, he and his wife (the co-author) were knowledgeable, and a good time was had by all. I bought a copy of the book and look forward to reading it. I don't really know much about Alister Clark's roses, other than a bit I picked up reading Susan Irvine's book A Hillside of Roses. He bred roses to deal with drought and heat, something that is of interest in my own climate, and others as well. R

I figured it might just be something along those lines, or a watering issue, it was just all the tiny red dots that appear all over some of the leaves (like the three on the far right) that had me a little concerned. I guess not much to do about sunburn.

Well, if they KNOW they're going extinct, I hope they are trying to save them! I suppose they mean extinct in the wild, but still, it seems there would be a concerted effort.

I just recently picked one of these up at my local nursery on a whim. The tag description says, "cream washed centers washed with a vibrant cherry pink" on the petals. My expectation was it would be kind of a cherry pink double delight - looking rose in coloration. I don't have any expectations, but will certainly update on what it does here in Georgia for me. As an aside, Sara Ann in Ok, your roses are just superlative, always. Bravo :) Adrianne
