Bon, I think it will get here eventually. I still am patiently waiting. If I get to the point that I am no longer patiently waiting, y'all will be the first to hear about it. Lisa, Of course! I've planted a ton of seeds in the back garden (except for the places that are so dry and cracked that I still couldn't break up the soil) so that the rainfall will make them sprout and grow. With the clay edges of the garden that are too dry to use, I'm probably just going to put down cardboard, heap tons of hay on top and let the earthworms come work the soil there this year. The back garden is even further behind the front garden this year than it was last year, but it is lucky it is being planted at all in this drought. Without all the rain that is supposed to fall here over the next few days, I wouldn't have planted anything back there. It does irritate me immensely that once I was able to break up the soil, it was filled with vole tunnels. Why is it the voles can tunnel through hard, compacted soil that the tiller just bounces off of? I ordered seeds about 9 or 10 days ago so I'd have some specific things I wanted to add to the back garden, My order from Willhite arrived on Monday, and then my order from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange arrived either on Tuesday or Wednesday. I was worried they wouldn't make it before the rain got here but as it turned out, both seed orders beat the rain by a mile. I think I had ordered either Friday or Saturday of the previous week, so both companies shipped really quickly. My favorite part of the rain is that it is falling where it is needed. I know it will get to us eventually, but even if a dry slot inexplicably develops in this huge rainy area and all the rain misses us, I'd still be thrilled for all the folks who got rain. I cannot complain. Well, I could, but it wouldn't do any good. We've already had rain twice in May and, while our May rainfall is far lower than our usual May rainfall, at least we have had some rain. I remain grateful for every drop that falls. Dawn

Jennifer Guilin --from you--it was quite productive,thin fleshed and quite hot.I tried this last year and none germinated. Antonia P. Rhomedia-- this pepper with the unlikely name came from a non-pepper person.I first thought it might be Antohi Romanian because of similarities in name. This pepper was green rather than pale when immature and the shape was different- thick flesh ( like a bell) juicy, sweet, and tasty. Tuste Blanco-- is a Zapotec Indian pepper- C. annuum, tough skin, moderate heat,fairly productive CAP 469-AB-- was sent to me as C. praetermissum even though the seed bank lists it as capsicum species. I had two plants CAP 469-AB 2 turned out to be a C. annuum, large,bland pepper with no heat. The other plant was a praetermissum which I brought in but the aphids became too much and I chucked it before the pods ripened so no pod picks. rosecanadian, you may have already seen the pictures I shared before, but here we go again! I love Belinda because she smells dreamy, tough as nails, in constant bloom and one of my first roses! (my mom purchased her for me, along with a few others) The other thing is that she has so many different "faces". Classy, upright buds that turn into the most glorious blowsy blooms! I can cut flowers and they seem to last forever in the vase...scents the whole room. I have seen many post that she is not that fragrant for them..but not the case in my humid, hot climate. She is a rose that I will always have..234I cut her back for the first time this year (4th year growing, I think) so she would put on more growth from the bottom. My son's lab plowed thru her while playing with my little dogs! My girls went under and Scout went through! lol I did see a touch of black spot this year, but she drops a few leaves and soldiers on. NEVER looks bad..even in our 98 degree + weather. I have one that I rooted a few years ago, planted in a spot in the yard that is a pain to access with a hose, and it is thriving. I watered it a few times with a watering can and that is it! This was a few years ago. She is in my back yard that gets full sun from the south and west. She never wilts even with the excessive heat radiating from the driveway and light colored bricks. (and gracious, everything else does!!) I actually planted a forest pansy redbud behind her...that area bakes!! Tea olives are another must have southern staple. They also just bake and thrive.
