Now that I've learned to post pictures I thought I'd get these up.

Jc - here's a picture of the morning glory that you got from me (seeds). Sorry it's kind of blurry! This was just taken this week, so the bloom is smaller than it was in the height of summer, but you get the idea. I planted several seeds, in bunches, right next to the chain link fence. They made for a very thick cover. I think you can see that the leaves are very large.

And for anyone who took some of my mystery irises, here's a photo that shows at least two of them. (That's "baby" Camber with them, 7 months old then).

Oh, no! I just saw the posts here. I can make the 8th, but not the 15th as I'll be away on vacation in the desert. I have lots of huge plants taking over and need to remove some of them if I can find the roots over in China. If the swap is the 8th, I may need to do some swapping a la carte and will let you all know what I have. Or maybe I can pass off some stuff to someone to take to the swap for me? I could host a fall swap on the 12th or 13th. After the swap a few of us did a tour of Katsura Garden last year, and I am sure we could do it again if anyone was interested. My swap wasn't fancy. I don't have extensive gardens to tour, though I do have a Pagoda Dogwood I'd love to show off. So if folks would rather travel to somewhere more impressive like Whitegarden, I would understand completely. I am in Plymouth, about an hour south of Boston and 20 minutes north of the Bourne Bridge along 3A. For swapping I have... Skybird, Thanks for the hollihocks! I'll still be bringing those light purple irises.. they're very regal-looking and showy. Also, I'll be bringing some of that catmint. When I thinned out and transplanted my irises last time (Oct 08), I had about a zillion extras, and gave them away to my neighbors and co-workers. Here's a BEFORE shot. Then I dug them all up, washed off their little dirty feet, and separated them. Then replanted about half of them. Here's a RIGHT AFTER shot. And here we are, 3 months ago. Oh....um, oops. As you see, I got some of them mixed up. I think I can pick out the peachy colored ones, if anyone would especially like those. I'll be transporting them the way my momma taught me - bare roots, in a big tub of water. I'll bring ziplock bags so you can keep them wet until you get home. Then, if it will be a day or two until you can plant them, you might want to put them in a big clean plastic bowl with fresh water, just deep enough to keep the roots wet. I'd leave them outside, but not in direct sun. You probably already know the little trench arrangement for putting them in the dirt, but if not , I'll show you on Saturday. Hi all, I was hoping to get the swap pictures downloaded so I could post them before I leave on my vacation tomorrow---but it's just not gonna happen! It's bedtime, and I'm still not ready to go! I haven't even had time to look at them myself yet! Jennifer, I know I got your behind in one of them, but don't worry, I'll crop it before I post it!! I'll post them when I get back, probably toward the end of the week by the time I find time to download them, so watch for a separate swap pictures post late next week. Meteor, I'm sorry you weren't able to make it. Hope you're starting to feel better by now. We'll be looking for you at next year's swaps, even if you wind up temporarily without a garden. Maybe even more so if that happens, so you can at least get a gardening talk fix if you can't be doing the actual gardening! And Azura, I'm so sorry you couldn't come too. I hope things start looking up for you soon. It's no fun to be out of commission--as I well know. Keep thinking spring swap--we'll all be looking for you there. Imagining the size of pot and amount of soil for a 100lb dog...I think I'd break my back, or the car's suspension! And, nope, we won't be "starting any from seed"! ;)

But, her breeder is local, so if anyone is ever interested, let me know. Warning though, the breeder requires the dogs be fed a raw food diet, which is a little bit of work! And to bring this back on topic, that's where a lot of my garden produce has gone this year... down the dog's gullet! I guess it's kind of like composting, since she seems to be growing so well.

I've never been a big iris fan, but that burgandy one is a beautiful color!

Thanks! The morning glories are perfect, exactly what we need for our new fence.
The irises are awesome...I was hoping it would be yellow, so it would look good with my lavender and purple ones, but the burgundy is such a pretty colour and so frilly!! I know I'll like them either way, but I'm hoping for burgundy :)

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the iris. I can't take any credit though, they came with the house. Let's hope that everyone gets what they want. And if they don't, next time I'll know better and mark the colors!

Camber is Swiss, Michelle, but actually a Bernese Mountain Dog - closely related to the Swiss MD.

Cnetter, I think you are so right. Yesterday afternoon I went out to harvest some of the seeds, only found a few pods dry enough to harvest, but there were hundreds more! It was very satisfying, and addicting though, popping those pods and seeing the hard, black seeds come rolling out.
