Round Robin Seed Box

Hello,

Since I have enough interested in doing a Round Robin.

Guidelines

1. No more then 4 pks of one kind can be used.

2. No old seeds please

3. no seeds that are molding.

4. Make sure you replace seeds that you taking out of the Round Robin.

5. Label each seed pack

Plant name:

Sun/Shade:

Hardyness if you know it

Your GW username

With the seeds are from your garden/Commercial/trade

6. Please make sure that all seed packets are sealed good so that the seeds don't come out of the packets.

7. Make sure that each player gives me there mailing address, email address, and phone number.

8. Please make sure that you are watching for the Round Robin. When it is near your time to receive that Round Robin that you let the group know

9. Make sure that if you had received the round Robin that you tell the group.

There will be a tracking number on the Round Robin

According to the DC the package has arrived, but I have not. I am away working but plan on heading in later today.
Fortunately I have an alternate location the mailman leaves packages for me and I can retrieve it on my way home.
I will follow up when I send it on it's way.

the main thing I like about the seed exchanges and round robins is the people I've met in the past months since stumbling across the GW. I've always been a gardener, and have learned what I've learned through trial and error, and even some experimentation. And yes, Linda, I'm still talking about gardening!!! LMBO! Here I've met a lot of great people, even some who "ahem" think they get to approve of my choices of a life-time companion! Here I've been able to bare my soul without fear of reprisal, we've laughed, we've cried, and we've gardened together. Not only have we gardened together in the dirt, but we've also gardened in our souls and spirits, and to me, that takes an awesomely special group of people!

Sara, Much cooler-but I had forgotten just how humid it is out there. And green, it was a jungle! I always laugh when I hear folks here speak of the "humidity". Certainly it is alot more humid than Colorado, Arizon and the rest of the southwest. But it is actually much much drier here than the east coast. It was usually between 68-72 degrees F in the mornings during my trip, yet I was dripping with sweat from the humidity. Oh well, there are weather issues no matter where you are, just got to learn how to deal with it. My tomatos all died while I was gone, yet I was able to start a new crop of squash for the fall, certainly couldn't do that in the northeast. Oh,and I emphasize it was "usually" humid during my trip. The 1st day I was there it was 75, dry, with a slight breeze-of course that was on the coast while wading in the surf at Rye beach. Sigh...

I will be unavailable this week to keep you all updated, so be sure to email the next person or post on GW when you send the Robin on its way. Hope you all have fun with the Robin. Nearly every morning , generally quite early, I really want a double hit of 200mg Ibuprofen to counteract the soreness and pain I'm experiencing, but I continue to resist and haven't taken pain meds in well over a week. Basically, at this point, I'm working to adjust to this new level of discomfort while maintaining as much overall functionality as I can. Good news is, I'm getting a lot better at it and accomplishing more. Can't expect everyone to remain understanding forever. Pain meds don't really agree with me all that well either, particularly the narcotic variety it seems (although, years ago, when I had pancreatitis, I learned to nearly love Demerol). Super-uber majorly sux that you can't take oral pain meds at all. :( I mean, like, holy criminey... Anyway, at least I'm not looking so much like a zombie-ogre fresh from the battlefield anymore, although I still wear my hoodie's hood up covering the adversely affected left side of my face. More for the benefit of others than myself, particularly in keeping with the season. It's going on 1 1/2 months now. Yippeee skip. :/ BTW, I've likewise been made aware of the role of stress regarding Shingles. Alas, with my wife being a recovering cancer patient, our 29-yr-old son being an unreasonable autistic and my wife's 89-yr-old mother and older sister often at odds, a stress-free environment in our universe is, well,...you get the idea. (-sigh-) We just do the best we can, like so many others. :)

And I'm after you Deb! I'm beginning to feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to get here, how about you? I received some seeds in the mail today from an online order, and didn't get anything done for the first hour I was home. I was too busy playing with the new seeds!

Hi,
The box did arrive today, sorry for not posting sooner. I had a million things to do today and our mail comes later during the day. After supper I went through the box, picked out some seeds that I've wanted to try- and replaced what I took. :)
The box is packed up and ready to be shipped out to Dan Monday morning!

Thank you so much Jennifer for such a fun seed round robin! I really enjoyed both of them so much!

Be prepared to receive a very fat round robin! Also, I have a feeling this is the last time the box can be used. It's a little bit worn out, but ok to use one more time. I taped it well! I'm sure your going to have a lot of fun Dan going through all the seeds, I know I did! ;)

I'm sooo tired, so will make this short. It's really late!

Deb, I'm ready! I've got some birdseed, water, and a cage all ready for the robin when it arrives...lol! It'll have to stay in the cage so Bump and Stella don't eat it...(chuckle). Thanks for the heads-up on the condition of the box. I've got some here at the house, and if it needs a different size than what I have, I'll be able to pick one up at the office. It's sooo convenient to work at the post office at times! The only bad thing about working there is that, when my mail carrier brings me my boxes (like she'll do with this one) all I want to do is stop and see what's inside the box! Lol, but, I'll behave myself and wait until I get home to peruse the contents. It'll be difficult, but I'll do it.

Really, I will.

Dan's delivery confirmation number- 0310 0480 0003 7104 8959. I'll be leaving in 45 minutes to an hour for the post office. I'm waiting for our post man to deliver a african violet package, and don't want the plants left sitting on the front step, it's too chilly today! My Daughter will be home with in a hour- so I'll have someone home to accept the package so I can finally go!

The dc should be able to be tracked in a few hours. :)
Dan's going to have A LOT of fun! Start getting excited Dan, LOL! ;)

I just checked the usps.com site, and the box is heading North! YAYYYYY!!!
It's like waiting for Christmas morning to arrive, when will Santa get here? What will be underneath the tree with my name on it? What's he going to put in the stockings?
The funny thing is, my two cats have no idea this box is on its way, and when I'm going through it to look at all the seeds, they will be doing the same thing right beside me. They love to investigate boxes, help plan my gardens, and look over anything I bring into the house. I've got pictures of Stella eating celery, would you believe it? LOL! Gardening is really a family affair here, and I think it's just too cool! Lol, just wait until they see what's in this box!

Just a quick note before heading back into the kitchen...
The box is here, safe and sound. The soonest I'll be able to go through it will be Friday night, birthday party tonight and then a good-bye party for a sister who's moving to Arizona tomorrow night. I did take a peek though while the cakes were baking, it looks like someone dumped the major part of a seed catalog in there! Gotta go decorate cakes, and then the house, but wanted to let you all know it's here. I'll post when I've got it in the mail!

Good News! The b-day celebration went great last night, my sisters' send-off finished up early tonight so she can get an early start in the morning, and I've just gone through the box and made my selections! Now I just need to replace the seeds with ones from my stash, and I'll probably be sending out the box to Michelle tomorrow, Saturday at the latest.
Bump, Stella, and I all enjoyed going through the boxful of baggies filled with seeds! If anyone has any allergies to cats, be warned, there may be a stray cat hair or two in the box...lol! They picked out some seeds for themselves and have graciously informed me that they're going to "allow" me to grow flowers for them. Isn't that just so nice of them??? LOL!

There was so many seeds to go through, I ended up needing 2 asprins by the time I was done looking at all the tiny writing, LOL! I went to bed with a headache!

Cathair-- My Spooky was looking through the box too, Bump and Stella must of been able to tell Spooky was there first! He was checking it out to see if there was any catnip seeds in there! ;)

Hello,

Thank you so much Dan for keeping updates it has been so crazy.

I will give a little about what is going on so you all know. I had to live my home do to my ex-boyfriends drinking and hitting and I am in the middle of getting my own place. It is hard on my kids and I but the Good Lord is watching out for us. I will keep everyone up to date on what is going on.

Tammie, this round robin is almost over, needing to only to make 3 more stops before heading home.
Stay tuned though, and keep checking this forum. There are new round robins beginning all the time, and you just need to sign-up before the swap boxes begin making their rounds.

Just an update of what is going on. My kids and I have found a place to live and get to move into it tomorrow so I am excited for that.

if you havent closed the box yet could you see if there is an unmarked sandwich baggie with tom and pepper seeds in it, most comm packages. I have lost them and thought it might have gotten put in the box. I dont want you to send them back but if they are in there I can stop looking through the house and introgating the boys.

Well sorry Michelle, they aren't in the box! I even double checked and no unmarked packs in there. And I apologize for not sending box yesterday! I worked overtime and didn't get to po in time when got off! But it is going today for sure!
