Just amending this thread! The Baronne Prevost rose photo is correct, but the "mislabeled" rose after that hanging over the fence is Marchioness of Lorne.

Aimee, I absolutely LOVED seeing this many roses. As much as I love old roses, strangely enough my two favorites were modern, Leonardo Da Vinci and Sir Edward Elgar. They have such luscious pink colors. I was surprised at Le Vesuve, of which I have four plants. All of them are clothed to the ground with healthy, rather dark green leaves, very different from the rather sickly ones your pictures show. I think this rose likes it warm and dry, although even in this cool and rather moist spring they look great, with not one sign of any disease. If only they could talk and tell us what they like. Le Vesuve also doesn't crisp for me in my really hot microclimate. I know it's a winner for Sherry too, who lives literally at the other end of the States. Are you sure John Clare is correctly identified? Is it supposed to be the David Austin shrub John Clare? If so, it is the wrong color. It should be a solid color of bright medium pink. Or are there two different John Clares? Thank you for the lovely pics, sysonby. Kate
