Ann, I am absolutely THRILLED with ALL of the seeds that you sent. Yes, I did get some asclepias seeds in a trade, but I was very disappointed witht what was sent. So I will be using ALL of what you sent. I am so, so excited about the firecracker columbine, too. Isn't it funny how some tiny little seeds can bring such happiness? Thank you! I also enjoyed your letter. We do have a lot in common. I was a Title I reading teacher for a number of years before switching over to special needs so I'm right with you on what you are doing. I bet your hubby and I could share some pretty good stories, too. Some really serious stuff along witht some real belly shakers! I've been told you have to be a little "off" to teach middle school. If that's the case, that fits me to a "T." That was a truly wonderful story that you sent, too. Made me do a lot of thinking. Ann, thank you again for another great month. Hi Mary Ellen. Glad you got your February seeds. Yes you middle school people are a little "off". I have to go visit with the 7th grade team on Valentine's Day regarding grades 6-7 Language Arts transition and they're a cagey lot. Any words of wisdom? How about a pep talk to psych me up? Seriously now you folks are talented individuals. After all I'm married to a middle school principal and know this first hand. Glad you enjoyed your seeds. Planning ahead for March already.

I am posting again about my Jan seeds as my pal said she didn't see it. Pal I received the seeds for Jan and the little recipe cards which I love. I also as you can tell have received the seeds for FEB and the recipe cards... hehehehehehehe. thank you for your thoughtfullness.

Hi all, I'm back from vacation and like any good seed swaper, I brought back seeds. I have some from a large round cactus. I did not see the blooms but the fruit is yellow and very attractive. The residents were breaking these seed pods open for the birds so I rescued some.
The other seeds are from a "gourd" like thing that looked like a tennisball. We were walking in the desert and I saw what I thought was a tennisball stuck in a cactus. The vine itself was dead so I took one of the gourds ( for lack of a better name) to harvest seeds.
If anyone wants to try some of these just let me know.
To my buddy, I'll be mailing on Saturday. just trying to get caught up for now. BB

Sharon, your pkg. came today! Is that the p.o. being slow, or what? Thanks for the lovely card, it is on the wall with the other valentine cards. Plus the seeds! Great, all new to us, and we are willing to try tomatoe seeds all the time. Last yr. hubby had them all over, his biggest one was 2 lb. He wants to see if he can outdo himself this yr. Darlene, sometimes my P.O. is EXTREMELY slow - like a creepy crawler. LOL
One time it took 3 weeks for a letter to arrive and 2 weeks is not unusual.
I try to send packages through a different Post office. They are much much faster. But this time I just put it in one of those mailboxes at the corner.

Thank you so much for the Canterbury Bells. I grew them a couple years ago. Loved them! Just never saved the seeds, then got caught up in other plants. I know it will take 2 years for them to bloom, but they are worth the wait.

Also, thank you for the Morning Glory seeds. I love the color blue in the garden!

I haven't planted any seeds you have sent, but I have started my Daylily seeds, a couple Geraniums, trying to start the tuberous begoinias but they aren't doing a thing.
Also, some Lynchis, and double dianthus. The double dianthus is 3 years old, but I thought I would give it a try ... yep, they are still good. :o)
I have some Delphiniums in the cooling stage in the refridgerator. 2 more weeks before they come out.

I have to slow down some, or I won't have any room to start my March/April seeds.

I got a cute card from Mellen that said "wave this back and forth"..... I did and flung the seeds half way across the room. Fortunately she had them in nice little plastic zippies and none spilled. I ended up laughing at myself as I scrambled for the seed packs of basil. Several different types so I can make lots of pasta and pesto this summer. mmmmm yum. I had about 4 types last year and they really do have different smells.

Thanks all for the posts. I had not seen that about Tina's DH. She had a tough year in 2005 and I was hopeing this year would be better, Hope we soon hear that Doris is on the mend and that things are smoothing out for Tina's family.

Angel let me know my bulldog looks like her Ali so I named her after jeanettes dog, my personal dogs are jacks Tisha, Tiyli and Paji. I spent this morning trying to teach Tiyli to dance, accourding to cbs news a new thing to do with your dog. she played along but is now looking at me like I am crazy. She is my new female not quite a year old. glad everyone has come thru, I am hoping for the same in my swap, I tried your trick, of card first, great idea if you can get anyone to understand it. hugs carol

I received your packet today. I just love dianthus and they seem especially appropriate for drab February. What lovely varieties you sent, 'Brilliancy' and 'Victoriana'. You are so thoughtful.
