I agree both this plant and your scorpions should be a foot or so tall by now. Especially if you are growing them outside. Unless the conditions are worse than I would expect for Texas, even N. Texas, they should be thriving.

My first concern is your source for the seeds. A lot of the Ebay and Amazon sources are bogus and you can't tell what kind of seeds you got until they get big enough to produce peppers. But we will assume you got what you paid for.

Something might wrong if they are only 6" tall and they don't look real heavily foliated like most super hots do. It could be the climate (what are your day and night time temps), how much do sun they get where they are planted, how much moisture they do or do not get, the type of soil they are in and what fertilizers you are using if any.

Here is one of my Naga's after three months. This was taken the day I planted it outside for the summer. Until then it was grown under lights.

I am growing the plant inside because I had 2 habanero plants die on me over the summer. From what I understand from getting advice from the internet is that the heat and humidity might have caused it to wilt and die, even though I watered 2 to 3 times a week. I thought I would try to grow this plant indoors until spring comes around. I will take a better picture of my plant and also the garden so you have a better idea of what I am dealing with

Yes, I understand the heat issue. But you probably would have been better off placing the plant in full shade rather than bringing it inside for extended periods of time. Rarely will a pepper plant thrive inside without a lot of extra lighting. It is nearly impossible to beat real sunlight. Of course you have to deal with the rest of Mother Nature in that case. Being in TX, zone 8, you should have had perfect growing weather the last month or so.
As long as your night temps are staying mostly above 50 with even an occasional dip to lower 40's, you should keep that pepper outside. Just looking at the Dallas, TX forecast, it looks like perfect pepper growing weather for the next 10 days. I know TX is big and varied but don't waste the good weather while you have it. There will be plenty of time over the next several months where indoors will be necessary.

I agree with Bruce completely.
Outdoor shade is many times brighter than your sunniest indoor window.

I'll also add that the mix of compost, manure, top soil, and sand probably had a stunting
and/or other negative impact due to lack of aeration in the mix. Granted, a free-draining
soil *does* require slightly more watering and fertilization, but the results speak for themselves.

There are many recipes for mixes out there - find something that is well-aerated and still retains
enough moisture for your Texas climate.

Peps generally like the heat and humiditity. (Which indicates to me that you are down in the Houston area?)

I think you got bad advice and were overwatering. Get a moisture probe from the garden section. They are only about $4. There is no objective measure for watering - it is highly dependent on soil properties and plant metabolism. I measure by watching the leaves, but also use a probe for confirmation. With peppers it is much better to underwater than to overwater.

P.S. Store the probe with a clean and dry tip or you will ruin it.

That plant shows typical stunting caused by either nematodes or rhyzoctonia. Your topsoil is the likely culprit. I would pot it up to a minimum 3 gallon container and while you are working on it, check the roots for signs of damage.

As others said, there are better growing mixes such as promix MPX.

Sun is king for peppers. They need full sun all day long. If you have a problem keeping the soil moisture high enough, set the container in a large shallow basin that you can fill with water as often as needed.
