Which of these intensely fragrants are most disease resistant?
Comments (19)I grow lots of the roses you list, but I do spray monthly and have no disease problems at all with any of them as long as I have had them and am faithful to the spray schedule. Comments (6)Austin's Mayflower (pink) is very disease-resistant and blooms a lot. I'd rate the fragrance moderate but nice. The Buck rose Earth Song is a rich medium pink and disease-resistant and strongly fragrant. It is a grandiflora but grows more like a shrub. Don't know what either one would think about 4-5 hours only of sun, however--but that could be a problem with a lot of roses. Hope that helps. Kate...See MoreDisease resistant fragrant rose?
Comments (16)Belinda's Dream is great for Texas, but in the northeast it gets more fungus disease, is of doubtful winter-hardiness, and suffers from rotting flowers in cool wet weather. I really like Mother of Pearl, which is peachy pink with a pleasant fragrance to my nose. It is very hardy and disease resistant. The cut flowers last longer than any rose I have grown. If you want super fragrance, the best bet would be The McCartney Rose. Disease resistant pale yellows with some fragrance are Irish Hope and Prairie Sunrise. All these are available from Roses Unlimited. Here is a link that might be useful: HMF Mother of Pearl...See MoreNo spray, disease-resistant roses that you love
Comments (48)The previous picture of Gold Glow: it's a striking celebrity in my back yard, can not help sniffing the distinctive hybrid tea scent! And shining like a gold block, made me feel rich right away, call it rose's fantasy! Top row left, TL for comparison of yellowness, bottom rose, unknown bare root, got it from Home Depot in 2005, strong fruity scented, named after my dad, Hou-Shi Ni, planted next to Dream Come True, aka my rose - Sherry Mai rose before I discovered it was DCT. Any time I have one unknown rose in my garden, thought it is fun to name it after my friend, relative or some one I respect, including Strawberryhill. Below is TM rose, or Tantarta rose: everything you can ask for: scent, shape, solid bright color, and lasts long (4 days or longer in vase): This post was edited by seaweed0212 on Tue, Jul 1, 14 at 15:44...See Morestrawchicago z5
