Not knowing your zone or region, it is harder to give recommendations. This said, if Hybrid Tea's are your thing, then it would be hard to beat 'Beverly'. Simply a stunning and incredibly fragrant HT. If you prefer shrub roses, then 'Sharifa Asma' or 'Eglantyne' are very good choices. This is based on someone in a zone 5 bordering on zone 4 location.

As petaloid stated, that knot,or bud union as it's called, is the point where the flowering variety is grafted onto the root stock. The two slightly disimilar tissues heal leaving a knot much like a broken bone will when it heals. This "knot" can get larger as the plant ages. With some 35,000 roses and a great majority of them pink and fragrant, your rose would be very difficult to identify based on the information you've supplied. I suspect though, with the plant being only 4 years old, it should be a fairly recent introduction possibly between 1995 and 2005. That would bring the potential choices down to a couple of thousand. Older roses tend to drop out of commerce quickly.

'Belinda's Dream' is a very nice bright pink with a lot of fragrance. It gets a lot of wonderful reviews from people in the rose forums. It is a gorgeous rose. On my list to get next year. There is also the old stand-by 'Queen Elizabeth', mine is in it's Fall flush right now and looks beautiful. It is a very bright pink as well as a vigorous rose that is pretty easy to care for. Nice fragrance too. 'Queen Elizabeth' will be available to buy easily bare-root in Jan, 'Belinda's Dream' will be a little harder to find. You may have to mail order that one, but it is worth it! (Try Sequoia Nursery in CA, they have it.) Good luck with your search for the perfect pink rose. That really does look like it! More like it than any other flower I have researched. Thanks for the tip. It has been described as "large flowered" and "to 5 feet" and "climbing". Mine do not fit that description, but they are in a poor location, where a tree has grown up above them. I'll see what happens when I move them. I look forward to more contributions . . . Thanks,
