That's really beautiful, I have this and really enjoy it. The colors of the roses and the leaves, I like it also because the blooms close up shop for the night:) It's supposed to be a spreader and get up to 8' tall though. Yours looks very healthy and happy there.

Now that you have our attention do you by chance have a whole plant kind of photo? I see from HMF it is a small climber although it will be a little larger for you than me. Would love to see more of that little beauty if you're game.

It is still small as it was a tiny band planted last fall. It is very healthy so far, but I spray. The mini-climber next to it is Life Lines - about to bloom. They are going to be great together! In the front of the mailbox, I also have dwarf iris planted. The grass is not quite "greened-up" yet, but will soon. I guess you might notice by my neighbor's mailbox that they aren't gardeners! They have nary a flower, or even a tree in their whole yard. Oh well!

And, I must add that I think my foliage looks great this year, and all I can think of that I did differently is I used Messenger. I don't know if that is it, or if I am just forgetting how nice it looked last year! Here's an iris (Different Flavors) from yesterday, but you can see the foliage from some floribundas about to bloom.

My bush started the spring off really nice, but grasshoppers and rose slugs have been eating on it. It's starting to come back now. It was a year old in Mar. It's starting to spread and send up longer canes though. New foliage on it is coming in nicely again. This is full sun shot not very good but it gives you an idea.

Leslie thank you. Those are great. Between your and Snowheather's shots that really gives a good feel for the whole plant. I just love that color. Might be fun with Night Owl on an arbor.

Evie, I got the trellis at one of the box stores - maybe Lowe's. And, thanks, Aprille! That flower is an iris, but I have a lot of daylilies,too, and will show you some when they bloom. And, Florence, that little climber is nothing compared to your gorgeous big ones in the Pink Climber thread!

Thanks, Jean and Carol. Yes, I think iris and daylilies fit in well in rose beds. Even when not blooming, the foliage hides the roses' skinny legs! Some are concerned they will get too much nitrogen, but that hasn't been a big problem for me.

And, Carol, since you are in the area, I got Different Flavors at a Dallas Iris Society sale. For your information, the next sales are on August 9 and September 6 at North Haven Gardens in Dallas. Also, this Sunday is their Iris Show. It is at the Pavillion Bldg. on the Texas A&M campus in Dallas. The address is 17360 Coit Road at McCallum and it is open to the public from 1:00 to 4:00.

Snowheather, thanks for the Iris info. I love North Haven, and purchased daylilies at the society sale there, but I've never checked out the irises. I won't be able to make it to their show on Sunday, but I will try to make the sale.
