I've started to look at the Double Knockouts around town with a closer eye. Many of the plants have widely spaced, single flowers per stem, but many plants have clustered flowers, typically seven flowers per cluster but as many as seventeen and the clusters are as tight as those on any polyantha. I suspect this difference is connected to how the plant is pruned, or maybe how it's sheared, and also on the stage of growth following pruning. At any rate, I wouldn't bet the farm that Jem's roses are Double Knockouts but that's still my best guess.

I was also going to guess 'Shailer's Provence'. While many different pass-along roses have been given the name 'Seven Sisters', the real thing is a large climbing Multiflora. :-) ~Christopher

Robert, if you can answer the below questions and requests, you will have much more luck getting the right answer (I would also recommend putting the info on the Antique Roses forum. This is the correct forum for a hybrid tea, but on the Antique Roses forum there seem to be more people who are good at identifying any rose, and happy to help): 1) Where, geographically, did your mother and her grandmother garden? 2) What is the earliest date which you believe your great grandmother grew this rose? (Tiffany, for example, was introduced in 1954. If your great grandmother grew your rose before then, it is not Tiffany). 3) Please tear apart a bloom and count the petals, and let us know how many there are, and whether they are or are not yellow at the base. 4) I presume this rose re-blooms? 5) Could not get at your pictures - Please post a picture of a cane with thorns. 6) Please post a picture of a hip, if you have any. 7) Please post a picture of the entire rose bush (largest one you have). 8) Please post a picture of a bloom which is fully open, but has not dropped its petals yet. Pink roses are the most difficult to identify (because there are more of them), but it is fun trying - Jackie

I Feels like someone planted that. We have old roses they have simpler patterns than that. It may help if u see whose stone it's near, look in the phone book and find any of it's ancestors and ask if someone's grandma planted that. I know people over 95 who remember what they planted where. U can call High Country roses and send them that pic. If it has wild canes it may be a climber that just needs attention. Did u identify first? Search for all yellow roses matching a similar description, hit images and see if anything similar comes up. U wld be surprised what plants can do without anyone stealing their nutrients for long periods of time. Sometimes they explode. I would appreciate any further notes on this i, we have a small nursery and roses r my special delight
