The cucumbers will most likely be cross pollinating if they are close to each other; however, the results of cross-pollinating do not show up until the second generation of plants. This means that this years fruit will not be affected by cross pollination but the seeds inside the fruit will. Your cucumbers shape is just a coincidence.

Just saving the seeds from a diverse pepper patch won't guarantee you will grow a pepper plant true to the mother plant so not a good Idea if you care. Not also a good Idea if the plant is a hybrid to save any of the seeds because you won't get a true replica to the original plant. You can isolate the plants you want to save seeds from and try to collect seeds but still doesn't mean the pepper flower wasn't pollinated by a flying pollinator moving across your garden or yard. Odds are low but still could happen. The best solution for true seeds is to bag some flowers right before they bloom and once they bloom hand pollinate and re-bag until the blossoms fall off, and then tag them. Peppers are self pollinating so you shouldn't have much of a problem. Now I know for a fact Tomato flowers are only viable for a day or two, but not sure about peppers so hand pollinate as soon as they bloom. I took seeds from a heirloom open pollinated Beaver dam plant packed in a patch with a dozen other types of pepper plants many years ago and grew them. they weren't anything like the original, the shape and size was right but flavor wasn't even close and rather nasty.

Although it may be scientifically possible for Native eastern red columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) cross pollinate with Columbine Blue Barlow (Aquilegia vulgaris) -- it may be as gardengal48 says- just not attractive to pollinators with all those petals. I know I've read hummingbirds are attracted to Native eastern red columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) but never read of their attraction to Columbine Blue Barlow (Aquilegia vulgaris). I feel fairly confident that if they did not cross polinate in Ken's garden for 23 years, or in Markay's garden-, then they may not cross in my garden either. Thanks for everyone's input!

Your rose is probably a grafted rose which means that there is a commonly used root part (the rootstock) that the rose producers use for different varieties to give them perhaps hardiness, vigor, etc. The rose that you want is grafted onto the rootstock. So what probably happened is that the variety you want has died and the rootstock has taken over the growing part. Rootstocks are usually white (multiflora), red (Dr. Huey) and other colors. If you want the variety you bought, you'll have to buy it again.
