Best to put into new garden soil?
Comments (4)Okay, thanks. This leads to another question... I have a compost bin started. I started it late winter, it has broken down nicely, except that there are still big pieces of leaves from my husband dumping them in last month, after I stopped adding other things! Could I use this, or should it "cook" longer?...See MoreBest place to get soil for veggie garden - Portland
Comments (4)We've used both the Clackamas 3-way and 4-way mixes for years for vegetables and trees. This time of year, a lot of wet, compressed clods can be in these mixes; try to break up as many clods as possible when putting the mix in the beds. Mt. Scott Fuel on SE Foster has soil mixes--one of them undercover, but I preferred the texture of the Clackamas mix last year....See MoreWhat kind and best place to get soil - San Antonio
Comments (2)Thanks! Just went to New Earth and keller. Keller has planting soil for a bit cheaper, and actually seemed a bit better than what New Earth had. Has anyone had experience with both?...See MoreWhat is best for raised garden beds using potting soil and compost?
Comments (1)Blueberries won't do well with one dripper. They have a shallow, wide-spreading root system. And they need a thick layer of mulch. Consider a soaker line; Or a rat-tail off the supply line which encircles each shrub at the drip line. Even then, you will have to move the rat-tail each year to deal with the expanding rootzone. Yes, Ts will work. Get one of the freebie booklets at your local box store. And no, you don't have loamy soil. You have something more like potting mix. So, yes, sprayers make sense. Just as with drippers, you should not exceed the supply -- the combined water pressure and the diameter of the supplyline. (That freebie booklet will help you figure it out.)...See Morebillie_ladybug
