Thank you Sherry. Lilyland's Fried Eggplant was/is a unique color combination that varies..... When it opened up it's first few blooms over the space of a couple of days I wasn't sure I had received the right cultivar as it looked so different from the database pictures. One of those pictures was from Dean Green, who was an occasional contributor to this forum and lives around the Oklahoma City area. Our climate should be similar and based on his picture I thought it was pretty. So I was startled by what popped up instead. I called the distributor of Nall daylilies in Lousianna and he confirmed it was indeed Lilylands Fried Eggplant. He told me the color varied from time to time and place to place. Boy does it ever. Here was the FFE taken at 3PM (in late afternoon shade). Days later it was still sporting this color combination on subsequent blooms: Below are more blooms taken 2 weeks later taken again in late PM shade at 1:30 PM Lilylands Fried Eggplant: It bounced back and forth between these 2 colors with minor variations for its entire bloom period. None of them ever looked like the other photos on the database............ Lilyland is looking a little worse for wear after this winter, but hopefully it will revive so I can see what it does this year...............Daylilies can be so interesting can't they.......Again, thanks Sherry for the nod of recognition..................Maryl

Thanks Kay for asking. We missed the tornadoes. The straight line winds (80+ mph were a few miles down the road though. Oh we got some wind, just not that 80 mph stuff. I see my concrete cat was hurled off it's perch and is now missing an ear (poor kitty). That wind was strong enough in my book. What is interesting is that over 3 days we got well over 5 inches of rain, but it's so dry here that not a puddle remains..........Maryl
