Melbourne (Australia)-chilli seedlings free to good home!

Last year was a poor growing year for me, so this year I over compensated!

I currently have about 90 seedlings from 20 varieties, all grown from seed, and more on the way. I'd like to thin this down to about 50 plants so I'm looking for adoptive parents.

You'll need to stop by Box Hill to pick them up, but otherwise they're free to a good home. Pick up now, or they'll be hardened off over the next couple of weeks. Email me at angorafish@hotmail.com if interested.

I was born and raised in Melbourne -- a great place to live, and a great place to grow fruit. As Larry says, most people on this forum are in the US, as I now am. I believe a very well regarded nursery in Australia is Daley's. You can find them on line. I know that here in the US serious fruit tree growers order their trees on line from nurseries that specialize in fruit trees, rather than from local nurseries whose employees tend not to be very knowledgeable about growing fruit trees. And if you want to grow fruit trees, get yourself a copy of the great book by a fellow Melbournian, Louis Glowinski, "The Complete Book of Fruit Growing in Australia." He used to grow an enormous number of kinds of fruit trees on his quarter acre block in Caulfield -- maybe he still does.

I'm not sure if this helps, but as a newbie to vegetable gardening I seem to have lots and lots of tomato seedlings. They are burpee beef steak variety (large). I also have what I'm beginning to fear is lots of peppers. My husband bought 3 different packets - a mix of 5 different hot peppers, bell peppers, and habanero. Through some kind of mix up they are all mixed up and pepper seeds all look alike to me. I know for certain some of the 5 spicy ones, but since it was a mix packet it will still be a surprise. Mike, Bill chose the Peterson's seedling, so I'll be sending you the small Gladys seedling in a small box. I'm going to wait a few weeks until the danger of a bad freeze is gone, so just email me with an address and I'll get your packages ready and give you a head's up when they are on their way. Definitely let us know if you can make the PSA sale in Houston in June! I probably can't make it this year but I'm sure lots of others on here will. Maybe you can bring Robert and Kenny along with you :)
