a few pics: mini-harvest !!

Hi friends, thought I'd share a pic of a few peppers we just pulled off the plants! From left to right: Jalapeno Early, Biker Billy (check out that corking - I love the heavy corking on the BB's), Fish pepper, two Giant Thai Hots, 2 Fatalis, and an orange hab.

We're also growing the mini Thai Hots shown below, which are actually hotter and better than the Giant Thai hots above, strangely enough:

Finally, here is a nice picture of a Biker Billy just starting to turn red at the tip. What's really cool about the BB's is they turn red on the inside too, so when you slice them onto food they have kind of a green-red Christmas tree look in the middle:

thanks! I like your blog, by the way. I'm growing the interesting Mirasol, too. Mine are at the same maturity stage as yours, but have been stuck there for about a month. Can't wait for them to go ripe or do something, so I can see what they taste like.

Mona, it has been a long time since someone said to me what you did a few days ago...thank you...I am truly touched :-) Jen, oh yeah, I sniffed! LOL Nebel's has a beautiful, sweet classic frangipani fragrance. In all ways, it's one of the most outstanding cultivars IMO, hands down...sorta wondering why I gave mine to Michael! hahaha it's a bit of a shame that it has that tendency to be fussy...although I'm so happy to hear that yours rooted despite the black tip! Heed this warning, all who love the Nebel's: keep it far, far away from winter chill. This beauty gets black tip if you look at it wrong, mmkay. But when it blooms...oh boy...heaven... BTW, if I understand it correctly, Nebel's Rainbow IS indeed aka Lei Rainbow, but there's ANOTHER Lei Rainbow as well that is distinct...Jeez, those old-time plumie cultivators out in Hawaii really should have pulled their thumbs outta their a**es beofre they started assigning names to flowers, right?? LOL Laura: big smile to you!!! I would love to meet your son...I have no doubt that you raised a young man of the highest quality. Tally: thanks, and...LOL we're totally cut from the same cloth. I grew up in Pennsylvania, and remember being 8 or 9 years old and huddling under my mom's "sit-down" hair dryer in the wintertime, 'cause I was always freezing! South Florida was my destiny, for sure! Last but not least: Nicole! I freely admit that I giggle with glee every single time you tell me how many trees I've caused you to buy! LOLOL LOVE that ;-) Thank you for your compliments...I do love taking photos of the plumies and trying my best to capture their most flattering angles...and I think you're right about our dear Madame Poni--this gal will only get better with age! (If only I could be so lucky! LOL) G

Yeah, same here. This is the first year I have grown them. Definitely a neat looking pepper plant.

I'm glad you like the blog. I have been trying to be more serious about it and post more than what I used to. I love reading other peoples pepper/garden blogs, so I wanted to give back.

Those are great looking peppers! The hottest peppers I can handle are jalapenos and cayennes for pepper flakes. Those are some real beauties!

I started my peppers to early! LOL after I picked these little guys the plant started to grow. Growing Hungarian Hot peppers is fun. I've always had good luck growing them here in northern Ohio.

I am in Indiana and I have very good luck with Hungarian Wax peppers. Had more than I know what to do with last year. Of course, I found something to do with them.

The Fataliis are amazing! The flavor is unlike any other pepper I've had. My wife absolutely loves them. We made powder out of them to use as seasoning - a litle tiny bit can go a long way in adding a new taste dimension to just about any dish.

wow...those mini Thai hots really are mini! lol. I think those are the ones I get in my pad thai. =) Easy to find seeds?
