I really appreciate you all looking and commenting on the garden. Kathi, it is easy to have a lot of iris bloom at the same time...have 2 or 3 hundred of them like the idiot in Alabama, and there are always a number of them blooming. I get embarrassed at the excess and quit posting them after a while. Cyn424, Actually, Julia Child blooms pretty well for me and she in in total shade due to New Dawn overgrowing her.Worth a try. Most of my roses get morning sun but afternoon shade...a good thing here in the heat. Mantis, what iris would you like to see close up? Midnight Blue does well for Rita in Long Island, and it is doing very well here, so with your skills it should be a winner for you. The color is pretty unique. the only one I have close to it is Cardinal Richelieu...and it's a once bloomer. Sandi, I am sorry the frost got your iris...like I told cyn424, buy a lot of iris, then you have blooms...awful answer, I know it. sorry. I'm glad you enjoyed the blooms and hope you get re-bloom on yours. Rena, the iris make clumps fast, then you have to divide. aargh! It was a spring to treasure though, it really was. Girlgroupgirl. Thank you, I got it as a band from Heirloom, and it was a teeny thing. It has a nice fragrance too. A year older, good rains, cool spring, and Mills Magic Mix have meant unprecedented bloom for me. Do you only have the one? I got addicted when I received one for my 18th birthday from my Great Aunt. It is my compacta. I have since acquired several. Don't have a favorite yet, as most of them have not bloomed. Been dipping into adeniums and growing my own veggies for quite a few years now, so my hoya collection was put on the back burner and I have just gotten back into it. I cannot wait until my meliflua throws out peduncles, it has my favorite blooms. Hubby can't wait until the DS-70 throws out and blooms, he LOVES butterscotch!

Hi Crafty, Sorry for the very late reply, working as a commercial diver sometimes takes you me of town for shorter or longer periods and sometimes even out of the country. Sorry I don't know the name of the Plumeria. The cutting was bought on ebay from Suncatchers of Hilo for $4 as a "Red cutting" I think it's more in the "Moragne" family! However it's very beautiful and I'm very pleased with it and here are af few pics of what it developed into. To "Greenclaws" Gill if you see this thread. We talked abour our seedlings and you said I beat you too it but you have to know I would never try to compete or beat you in any way. I had more hoped we could team up and make where we live a more Plumeria knowen area we are only about and hour by airplane away from eachother. And Littlem 2007 "Sue" I would love to show you more of my collection but it's spread all around my big garden and the Plumerias are mixed in with all my other plants and they are not as nicely arranged as Hawaiienbuilt's I really like his collection but mine is all a mess compared the his but the plants I have are healthy and ok. Here are some pics. of the Plumerias that have flowers in my garden right now. My two poor Celadine's were attact by very strong winds and got some leaves ripped of and the wind even burned the new leave tips but they are coming back ok and will produce flowers soon and I look forward to the smell. There is also a pic. of my cool dad who becomes 87 this Oct. and me and we are standing next to my old Carmen. Behind us you might be able to see several new seedlings I have no idea how many I have but there are lost of them. I think the small dwarfs that I got in November last year are doing great too they didn't seem to care about the strong winds but the leaves are also much smaller and harder than the other Plumeria's. Has anyone here ever plantedan egg in the bottom of the pot with there cutting or plant? I joined the Aloha plumeria forum and was encouraged to do this. I believe 100% that this is what got my cutting to root so fast and bloom its first year. I also wanted to add that I have 3 Nebel's Gold plumeria cuttings that I am looking to trade with anyone who has plumerias that I don't have. Andrew
