Ellen, I see we both like the same hot colors! I got Leona from them this spring and she's growing well, not super fast or slowly. No blooms yet, though :( I didn't know FCN even had Bangkok Fire. Can't wait to see your photos when they bloom!

Sometimes they have varieties that are not on their web page. If you ask Carol she is very helpful with this.
Also they are having a small 10- 15% price break (end of season) if you order more than one and know to ask for it. Can't wait for my new "children" to arrive so they can get settled in
before fall really arrives

Gosh I wish I would have known to ask for the price break, I just mailed out my check on Wednesday. I ordered Charlotte Ebert, Gold Coast Cotton Candy, Hurricane, Kaneohe Sunburst, Kimi Moragne,and Plumeria Don. I called Carol last week, and she never mentioned the price break. She did give me a break on gold coast cotton candy, since I was replacing the one I lost in the freeze of 2010. I love that she takes time on the phone, helping me select plants. That is worth more to me than any discount. Barbra

Carol, cashed my check today, I hope the plants are in the mail. I want them to grow for at least 2 months before I have to put them up for the winter. Just to let you know I went to Lowes, looking for 5 gallon plastic pots. The original price was $29.74, I had the checker check the price, they were only $3.74. They were not marked clearance. I got 12 in blue, the gold ones( same pattern) were $7.74. I bought 17 total. Just have her check the pots that show dust, that is what I did. Barbra

Yippie! My new babies arrivied yesterday(they were ordered 13 days ago and shipped 6 days ago) I soaked the root balls in a bucket with superthrive and seaweed extract for a couple of hours and potted them up in 1.5 gal pots.
I'm really crossing my fingers that they can get established before winter. The Bankok Fire (red) has an inflo about one inch tall. To cut off or not that is the question. I know how fussy reds can be especially late in the season. The roots looked pretty healthy to me.

That is a good question on deciding to cut the inflo or not. You are in Southern CA right? You have a better chance to try and leave the inflo on. But i would cut it only if the leaves are not growing along with the inflo, i would cut it off. Hard to do, but you are correct about the reds. Give it a chance and see if it grows together with the leaves and maybe you will be blessed with both!!!

I Love Florida COlors, Carol is so patient and really helpful. She has grafted some of my cuttings and they all have been very healthy and she goes out of her way to make you feel so special while you are on the phone with her. You dont get that kind of attention anymore at most places.

Don't cut. It has roots. treat it like a regular plant not like a rooting cutting. It has roots.

My plants just came from Florida Colors. Two of them have 3 tips, one has two tips, 1 looks like it has 3 small tips and the remaining 2 have one. No blooms, but some have green leaves. I forgot the camera charger, but will look around here for batteries, so I can take pictures after they are potted. They are soaking in superthrive right now. I am so pleased. These are so much bigger than the cuttings, I will always get plants from Florida Colors, for just $5 more. Barbra

Nice, big cuttings! Are they all grafted? I won't buy rooted cuttings from, prefer to buy cutting in the spring and root them myself. They are in South Florida, I just do not understand why they graft everything.

Barbra, that's a fantastic percentage of multi-tips you got. I've only gotten I think one two-tipper out of several that I bought, but that might have just been what was available at the time. Their prices are very reasonable so you did great from that purchase! I love that they don't charge you one penny over the cost of shipping, either.

I like FL Colors too. I purchased Hot Embers, Leona Hoke and Butterfly Gold from them back in June. I was a little worried about the graft on the Leona Hoke because the seam didn't look all the way "healed", but the plant is growing well. I don't like looking at the graft part, but I figured if I want to make it a cutting I can just cut off the top part! The rooted grafted plant is only $5 more than the cuttings anyway. So far the plants are growing well so I've left them as is.

The postage on the box was $3 more than what Carol charged me for postage. Barbra
