Hydroponic vs containers - Nutrient Concentration

I dug around a bit and found some basic guidelines for fertilizing hot peppers in hydroponic systems. Using the info, I figured adding 170-180 ppm (or about 1.4grams/gal) of Potassium Sulfate to 2 tsp/gal of dyna gro "grow" fertilizer would yield:

Nitrogen: 185 PPM

Phosphorus: 46 PPM

Potassium: 270 PPM

Total Salts: 750+ PPM

This would be suitable for hydroponic growing, but I'm using a soil-less mix for container culture, not pure hydro. Should I cut everything back to 1/4 strength and remain in Dyna Gro's suggested 1/2 tsp/gal range?

Basically, I'm asking, does container gardening require a significantly lower nutrient concentration than hydro?

Enough to warrant dilution of my calculated mix?
