Sorry, but look just like the so called Bhuts we ordered from Seed Rack last year. Have warned many about them. Maybe some one needs to SHOW them the difference? One good thing tho...the Habs we did grow from seed from them were wickedly HOT!!

It might be a carribean red. I bought a 4 pack of those from the local farm market/garden supply a few weeks ago. Although my plants are very small at this time they did put out a couple peppers so far and look very similar. Yes it was WICKED hot.

I'm having a similar issue with seeds purchased from Hirt's Gardens via Amazon.com. I did start them from seed a bit late in the season and now have some immature pods starting. After reading some seller reviews, I've heard Hirt's has had problems keeping the seed stock straight. Does anyone have any immature Bhut pics (just forming through maturity) that they would share?

Ironically, Hirt's Gardens emailed me back about my bad Amazon.com comments about a previous order. I got some ladybugs from them and there was a significant amount of dead-loss. The more and more I look at my "Bhuts" they are really starting to look like habaneros... I'm going to be PISSED!!!

I can't say I'm surprised about the species. Hirt's Gardens has a fairly poor reputation (found out after the fact) and has actually done this before. After I posted a '3 star' customer review on Amazon.com, they emailed me and said they would refund my money IF I removed the negative comment.

and I'm more than happy to work with them instead of against them.
But if they're not honest, it'll go poorly for them.

My buddy is really disappointed. He's had his heart set on Bhut's,
and he's been telling folks about this pepper for months.

Well, I guess Seedrack.com is an untrustworthy and unreliable operation,
relying on grower ignorance and inaction in order to sustain their profit margin.

A single batch of mislabeled seeds, sold year after year. Right.

I have no patience for liars interested only in covering their own asses.

And a disclaimer about peppers cross-pollinating? Uh...no kidding. Who doesn't know this?
That's why we pay money to companies to keep their strains separate.

they must have magical pollinators for EVERY batch of their Bhut's to have crossed with Caribbean Reds.
The chances of perfect crossing of this scale, year after year, are astronomically low.
I am thoroughly unimpresed with the level of knowledge and the excuses presented by this supplier.
The merchant is clearly operating beyond his/her expertise.
